A DIFFERENT KIND OF ESCAPE

Ari hesitated before opening her door again. She wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, but she knew she couldn’t stay cooped up in her room any longer. The walls felt like they were closing in, and her thoughts kept circling back to Leo, no matter how hard she tried to push them away. She needed a distraction, something to occupy her mind and keep her from dwelling on everything that had happened.

With a deep breath, Ari finally opened her door and stepped into the hallway. The house was quiet, save for the faint sounds coming from Mia’s room. She knew her sister was in there, probably still doing her exercises or maybe just resting. Ari wasn’t sure what she wanted to do, but she knew she wanted to get out of the house, away from everything that reminded her of Leo and the confusion he’d stirred in her heart.
