HOMECOMINGS AND SILENT PROMISES

When Ari landed at the London airport, the sky was already darkening, casting an orange glow over the tarmac. The long flight had left her tired, but a small sense of relief washed over her. She was home. As soon as her phone connected to the local network, she dialed Mia’s number. Her younger sister had promised to pick her up from the airport, and knowing Mia, she was bound to be punctual.

The phone rang only once before Mia answered, her voice bright and full of excitement. “Hey, sis! I’m already here, just waiting in the parking lot with the driver. Come out quickly before someone recognizes you!”
