Chapter 4. "I suppose I'm just a selfish person."
"Ezra? I'm sorry. Just...calm down, ok?" Ren's angelic voice rose frantically.
He reached for Ezra, whose breath was coming in tortured gasps as if he were on the verge of hyperventilating.
His frail body had never looked so fragile.
As he held his hands out towards him, Ezra flinched back, his eyes widened in horror.
Ren's face dropped, and he appeared to take on a strange expression of almost childlike innocence, "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you. Please don't be afraid of me. I don't want you to be afraid of me." Ren dropped his hand but didn't move away as Ezra gasped for air.
Suddenly, his eyes began to emit a strange unnatural light, and Ezra felt an eerie compulsion come over him. No matter how hard he tried, he couldn't look away, and a heavy fog pressed down on his mind.
