Chapter Two

Philip's voice was laced with concern. "Fidel, what's going on? You sound rattled."

Fidel's mind raced as he tried to piece together the events of the previous night. "I made a mistake, Philip. I slept with a human."

There was a pause on the other end of the line. "What? Fidel, how could you be so reckless?"

Fidel's grip on the phone tightened. "I know, I know. It was a momentary lapse of judgment. But I need your help to fix this. Find her and get rid of her before she causes any trouble."

Philip's tone turned grim. "I'll take care of it, Fidel. But you need to be more careful. Your reputation as alpha is at stake."

Fidel's eyes narrowed. "I know, Philip. I'll be more careful in the future. Just take care of this mess for me."

As he hung up the phone, Fidel's mind wandered back to the human. He couldn't shake off the memory of her scent, her touch, her taste. He growled in frustration, trying to push the thoughts away. He had to focus on his duties as alpha, not indulge in fleeting desires.

But the memory of her lingered, haunting him like a ghost. And when Philip finally found her and brought her before him, Fidel's resolve was put to the test. Would he be able to resist the pull of this human, or would he succumb to his desires once again?

On the other hand,

Ciara's heart raced as she huddled in the shadows, listening to the guards' conversation. Their words cut deep, like a knife twisting in her soul.

" Master Fidel instructed us to find the human," one of them growled. "She's an abomination, a stupid mistake."

Ciara's eyes stung with tears. She had thought Fidel's touch was a sign of affection, but now she realized it was a curse. She was nothing more than a mistake to him, a mere human unworthy of his love.

Fear gripped her as the guards drew closer, their torches casting eerie shadows on the walls. She knew she had to escape, but where could she go? The forest was treacherous, and the pack house was off-limits.

With a surge of adrenaline, Ciara darted out of her hiding place and sprinted down the corridor. The guards shouted behind her, their footsteps pounding the stone floor.

She ran blindly, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn't let them catch her, couldn't let them hurt her. Fidel's words echoed in her mind, "Get rid of her," and she knew she was in grave danger.

Finally, she saw a glimmer of light ahead and burst through the door into the night air. The forest loomed before her, dark and menacing. But Ciara had no choice. She took a deep breath and plunged into the shadows, praying she'd find safety before the guards caught up with her.

Ciara had been walking for hours, her legs aching and her body weary. She had finally found a small clearing surrounded by dense bushes and decided to rest for the night. She curled up on the ground, wrapping her arms around her knees, and closed her eyes, letting the silence of the forest lull her into a deep sleep.

But her peace was short-lived. She was awoken by the sound of rustling leaves and snapping twigs. She opened her eyes to find two guards standing over her, their torches casting flickering shadows on the ground.

"Who are you?" one of them growled, their hand on the hilt of their sword.

Ciara's heart raced as she scrambled to her feet. "I-I'm just a traveler," she stuttered. "I meant no harm."

The guards exchanged skeptical glances. "You're a long way from home, aren't you?" one of them said, their voice dripping with suspicion. "You're coming with us."

Ciara knew she had no choice. She was led away, her hands bound by ropes, and taken to the alpha's lair. She was pushed to the ground, her head bowed in submission, as the guards presented her to their alpha, Lamar.

Lamar's eyes narrowed as he gazed at her. "you're just a human," he said, his voice low and menacing. "What's your story, little one?"

Ciara took a deep breath and told him everything, from her escape from Fidel's pack to her desperate search for a new home. She left out no details, hoping that her honesty would spare her life.

Lamar listened intently, his expression unreadable. He could tell that there is something different about her. Maybe it was her scent. However within his thoughts he had made his decision.

When she finished, he nodded thoughtfully. "I'll give you a choice," he said. "You can either join our pack and swear loyalty to me, or you can face the consequences of your trespass."

He made it look like she had no choice in the matter but I'm truth, he wanted her to say. He couldn't place it yet but he always loved a good mystery.

Ciara bowed in submission. "I will join your pack" she submitted, simply relieved to be free from the struggles. "As long as I am safe" she thought.

Alpha Lamar with a subtle smile on his cheek simply waved his hand dismissing her off. "Find her a place where she fits hopefully she is not good for nothing"

After her audience with Lamar, Ciara was led away by an attendant, her heart still racing from the alpha's intense gaze. She was taken to a small chamber, where warm water and soft cloths awaited her. The attendant helped her clean up, gentle hands washing away the dirt and grime of her journey.

As they worked, the attendant asked her questions, curious about her skills and talents. Ciara hesitated at first, unsure of what to reveal. But something about the attendant's kind manner put her at ease.

"I'm good with sewing," she said finally, her voice barely above a whisper. "I used to help my mother with her needlework, and I've made a few garments on my own."

The attendant's eyes lit up with interest. "Sewing, you say? That's a valuable skill indeed. We have a tailor room here in the pack house, where our designers work on garments for the pack. Would you like to see it?"

Ciara's heart skipped a beat. Could this be her chance to prove herself? She nodded eagerly, and the attendant smiled.

"Follow me, then. Let's see what the tailor room has in store for you."

And with that, Ciara was led away,

Ciara followed the attendant through the winding corridors of the pack house, her heart pounding with anticipation. They finally arrived at a door adorned with intricate embroidery, and the attendant pushed it open with a gentle hand.

"Enter," they said, gesturing for her to go inside.

Ciara took a deep breath and stepped into the room, her eyes adjusting to the warm light within. A woman with piercing green eyes and long, curly brown hair looked up from her work, her gaze scrutinizing Ciara from head to toe.

"Ah, the new one," she said, her voice firm but not unkind. "I am Lam, the pack's main seamstress. And you, Ciara, are still a mystery."

Ciara curtsied, her hands trembling slightly. "It's an honor to meet you, Lam. I'm eager to prove my skills."

Lam raised an eyebrow. "Prove your skills, you say? Very well. I shall give you a test. If you pass, you may join our team of seamstresses. But if you fail..." Lam's eyes glinted with a hint of mischief. "Let us just say you won't be leaving the pack house anytime soon."

Ciara's heart skipped a beat. She knew she had to succeed. "I'm ready, Lam. What is the test?"

Lam smiled, a small, enigmatic smile. "I shall give you a piece of fabric, and you shall create a garment from it. The catch? You have only one hour to complete it."

Ciara's mind raced as Lam handed her a bolt of fine silk. She knew she had to work fast, but she also knew that haste could lead to mistakes. Taking a deep breath, she began to work, her fingers moving swiftly and surely as she created a beautiful, intricate gown.

Ciara's fingers moved deftly, her needle dancing across the fabric as she stitched together a majestic gown. She had been tasked with creating a test piece, a way for the pack to assess her skills. Ciara had poured her heart and soul into the design, determined to make a good impression.

As she worked, a passerby stopped to watch her, her eyes fixed on the gown taking shape. Ciara didn't notice her at first, too focused on her work. But as she looked up, she saw a woman with a kind face and a warm smile.

"Wow, you're incredibly talented," the woman said, her voice filled with genuine admiration. "I'm Brenda, by the way."

Ciara blushed, her heart swelling with pride. "Thank you, Brenda. I'm just trying my best."

Brenda nodded, her eyes sparkling with interest. "Well, your best is certainly impressive. I can't wait to see more of your work."

And with that, Brenda smiled and continued on her way, leaving Ciara feeling grateful for the unexpected encouragement. She had no idea that this chance encounter would be the start of a beautiful friendship.

Ciara felt grateful and satisfied and to her, life had begun to take shape. But little did she know. That problems were far from over. Her ordeal with Fidel wasn't going to end anytime soon.
