Chapter XII

The next thing I knew, someone was pulling me away and a teacher was standing in between us, yelling about our appalling behaviour.

I saw a familar figure walk over and bend down, picking something up.

Victor.

I saw my locket in his hand.

His expression didn't change much as he stared at the photo in it but I saw a slight frown.

...

All the fight left me and my legs grew weak.

What must he think, seeing a photo of someone who looked identical to him in a strangers locket?

I saw his lips move as he said something to the teacher.

I couldn't hear anything.

My vision grew slightly blurry.

I saw her nod and Victor turned to me.

He said something to the person behind me who was still holding me back and they let me go.

I lost sense of what was happening and before I knew it, I was in the school nurse's room.

Everything seemed to fly past me as the nurse put ointment on my cuts and scolded me for fighting.

The only thing that I noticed was Victor's presence.

Had he... taken me here?

He wasn't... creeped out by me?

The nurse left after telling me to lay down, saying that I had a slight concussion.

I looked deazedly at the plasters om my knuckles.

There was already a darker colour in the center of each where the blood started seeping through the cotton pad.

I stared at it, captivated by the sight.

Victor cleared his throat next to me and i looked up at him.

"Are you okay? If was quite intense back there."

I nodded I'm responce, not ready to talk yet.

He didn't seem to believe me but he didn't say anything else.

The bell signalling the end of lunch rang.

"Well... since you're okay...I should get going.."

Was it my imagination or did he seem reluctant to leave?

Nina and Rory decided to walk me back to the apartment despite my insistent warnings of the area.

When we got back, they forced their way in, saying that they wanted to make sure that I was okay.

I didn't believe them.

The way they kept glancing at each other, they clearly had some sort of ulterior motive.

I unlocked the door and showed them into my room.

I asked if they wanted me to make them a tea or a coffee and they declined, saying that they won't stay long.
