There was a knock on the front door and i opened it, a grin spreading across my face as I saw Victor's outfit.
"That's what you're wearing? I thought you were joking!" A laugh bubbled out of me at the sight of him.
Victor was dressed in a white sheet with black paint where his eyes would be. In the middle of the black there were small cut out holes allowing him to see out.
A stereotypical ghost outfit.
My own outfit was of Ghostface from the hit film franchise 'Scream'.
I had managed to find the outfit in a charity shop the month before and i couldn't resist buying it.
It was slightly too big and the cloak dusted along the ground slightly but I was pleased with it anyway.
"Should we get going then?" Victor asked me from under his sheet.
"Yeah."
I let him lead the way to a better neighbourhood than my own one.
As we left it, more and more Halloween decorations appeared and the streets became slightly crowded with teenagers trick or treating.
Victor led us down a driveway with a lit pumpkin, a cute smiley face carved into it. The flames dancing inside cast shadows onto the concrete drive, inverting the smile.
I felt a hand on my back, pushing me forwards. I stumbled slightly and looked behind me to see Victor giving me a thumbs up.
I could hear him trying to stifle his laugh, his sheet shaking with the effort.
I sighed and walked up to the front door, pressing the doorbell hesitantly.
After a moment, it swung open to reveal Frankenstine's monster holding a large bowl of Swizzels and Haribos.
I took a packet of strawberry Haribos and put them in my bag, thanking the person.
Victor sidled up beside me and took some love hearts and a drumstick before leaving to go to the next house.
I thanked the person again and hurried after him, only managing to catch up as he rung the doorbell of the next house.
In the door swung a skeleton in a cage, it's eyes glowing red.
The door took a while to open but when it did Michael Myers stared back at me.
"Trick or Treat" Victor said to the person. I could tell that he was grinning undermeath his 'ghost' outfit.
After a moment, they reached behind the door and held out a bowl to us. It was filled with strawberry laces and eyeballs.
"Take a handful." The person said to us.
Victor reached in and took a large handful, shoving them into his pumpkin bucket.
I thanked 'Michael Myers' and took as small as an amount as I could without seeming too rude.
We continued going round houses until i complained that we had enough sweets and I dragged Victor back home. I could tell he was pouting by the way he spoke but he was still happy that he had managed to drag me out at all.
We collapsed on my bed and I took off my Ghostface mask just as Victor took off his sheet.
He seemed very happy with our haul.
Victor stayed over and we spent the rest of the night talking about nothing as we watched horror films on our phones and ate our hard earned sweets.
At some point Victor looked over at me and, with a grin and a lazy expression said "Happy Halloween."
