TW: GORE (scene from a film, not descriptive. Followed by fluff)
We sat on my bed, our knees brushing together as we watched a film on Victor's phone.
A pumpkin bowl filled to the brim with sweets sat in my lap.
We ate them like popcorn as we watched the horror film.
I had convinced Victor to watch Final Destination, and by the way he was gripping the duvet, he was getting freaked out.
I hesitated for a moment, unsure if I should reach out my hand to hold his own.
Would it be too forward?
In the film, the train roared across the tracks, causing a piece of metal to fly and decapitate one of the characters.
Victor grasped my hand, his grip tight as he seeked comfort.
I could feel a smile grow on my face at the thought of him being scared over this film.
"Are you scared." I jokingly asked Victor, a teasing tone to my voice.
"Of course I'm scared! Who wouldn't be?" He snapped back defensively.
I laughed and squeezed his hand.
"I don't find horror films scary."
"Not even the bloody ones?"
"Nope."
Another laugh escaped me.
"It's fine if you're scared. It's cute."
I could feel myself blushing as I said that.
I looked over to Victor to see him blushing too.
"Don't... don't say things like that."
His voice was soft. He clearly didn't mean it.
I decided to be brave and I lay my head on his shoulder. He tensed for a second but relaxed, slowly wrapping his arm around my shoulders and leaning his head against my own.
"This is nice..." Victor mumbled, as if to himself.
"Hmm..." I hummed back, not wanting to break the comfortable silence we were in.
The film ended and I asked to put on Terrifier.
"On a scale of one to ten, how gory is it?" He asked me.
I pretended to contemplate the question for a bit then put on a big smile.
"Probably about... a 9"
He sighed. "Don't let go of my hand. And promise we can watch something nice and easygoing next. Like Bake-Off."
I chuckled. "I promise. We can watch Bake-Off next."
He held my hand tighter as the film started.
