WE ARE PURE

"Really?" Bai Qing hadn't expected the Old Madam of the Mo family to agree.

"Yes, really," the Old Madam replied, her gaze fixed on Bai Qing's soft and delicate face.

Divorce from Mo Xiao, and she's actually this happy?

She used to seem so fond of him, but now things have changed.

That troublesome boy, what on earth did he do to disappoint Bai Qing this much?

"But promise me, dear, even if you divorce Mo Xiao, you will still be my precious Qingbao," the Old Madam said, holding Bai Qing's hand reluctantly.

Bai Qing had been brought to the Mo family when she was twelve.

Over the years, both her son and daughter-in-law had been incredibly busy.

Mo Xiao, despite his young age, had already begun to take on some of the company's responsibilities.

They were all so busy that they had no time to keep her company.

Only Bai Qing had stayed by her side all these years, making her loneliness a little more bearable.

She had watched Bai Qing grow up, the little girl's every step had been witnessed by her own eyes.

This young lady was truly wonderful—gentle, sweet, never quick to anger, with a sense of propriety, knowing when to advance and when to retreat.

Mo Xiao's temper wasn't the best, yet Bai Qing had always been able to calm him.

The Old Madam felt that this lively, adorable, and gentle girl was the perfect match for her grandson.

She had even planned that when the time was right, they would get married.

Although there was no love between them now, it would surely grow in time.

But the Old Madam had never expected that her own grandson would defy her plans.

He was actually in love with Yun Qiqi.

The daughter of a vixen!

It wasn't that the Old Madam lacked empathy.

Everyone knew that children born out of an affair couldn't choose their birth.

But Yun Qiqi's mother had been far too shameless.

Back then, relying on her beauty, she had flitted between the noble sons of the capital's prestigious families, stirring trouble wherever she went.

The sight of her alone was infuriating.

Fortunately, her son had been steadfast, sparing the Old Madam from any anger or worry over the matter.

But some of her old friends hadn't been so lucky.

Their sons had either been bewitched by her, or their daughters had fallen victim to her schemes.

It wasn't until she gave birth to Yun Qiqi that peace finally returned.

It was said that woman had wanted nothing more than to marry into the Yun family.

But Old Madam Yun, being fiercely strong-willed, had threatened to take her own life rather than let her through the door.

So, the woman had continued her life of debauchery for a few more years before succumbing to a severe illness, bringing tranquility back to the capital.

Before her death, she had sent Yun Qiqi to the Yun family.

While Yun Qiqi was unwelcome there, Lady Yun, being of noble birth, had never mistreated her.

But no one had expected that Yun Qiqi would inherit her mother's craftiness.

She humiliated Lady Yun at a banquet, forcing her to lose face.

Having suffered in silence, Lady Yun had decided to take off the gloves, her attitude towards Yun Qiqi turning completely cold.

She figured that since her reputation had already been tainted, she might as well not care anymore.

Though Yun Qiqi's father occasionally voiced his disapproval, Lady Yun continued as she pleased, beyond control.

She had long since lost all hope in her husband, yet she knew they would never divorce, their families being deeply intertwined in business.

So, she stopped repressing herself.

If Mr. Yun dared to fool around, she would too.

Even Old Madam Yun turned a blind eye to it all.

Frightened, Mr. Yun had straightened up and never strayed again.

While Yun Qiqi didn't possess her mother's manipulative prowess, she was still relentless in pursuing her goals.

Knowing that among the capital's four great families, the Mo family stood at the top, she clung to Mo Xiao, refusing to let go, hoping to rise in status.

But how could the Old Madam allow her to succeed?

Even if Bai Qing and Mo Xiao divorced, she would never let Yun Qiqi into the family.

"Grandma, I will always cherish and honor you," Bai Qing said, wrapping her arms around the Old Madam's neck, acting spoiled.

The Old Madam smiled, her heart filled with joy.

Just then, Aunt Cai walked in. "Old Madam, the young master has returned."

"Let him in," the Old Madam replied coolly.

"Yes." Aunt Cai turned and went to fetch him.

"Grandma, I'll step out now so you and your grandson can speak in private," Bai Qing said softly.

"Alright." The Old Madam nodded.

Bai Qing rose and left.

She crossed paths with Mo Xiao outside.

Seeing the weariness on his face, Bai Qing was reminded of the voice message she had heard the night before.

It was utterly revolting, making her feel a growing sense of disgust towards Mo Xiao as well.

Without acknowledging him, she walked past him.

Mo Xiao's face darkened as he entered the Old Madam's room.

"Grandma, you called for me." His voice was as cold as ever.

The Old Madam looked at him with indifference. "Mo Xiao, do you think I'm getting so old that I'll die before you, so you can lie to me however you like?"

"Grandma, what are you talking about?" Mo Xiao frowned.

"Then why didn't you dare tell me that Yun Qiqi had returned?" The Old Madam's voice grew serious.

Mo Xiao's brow furrowed slightly. "Grandma, who told you that?"

"Hmph." The Old Madam snorted. "You think it was Bai Qing who tattled, don't you?"

Mo Xiao remained silent.

"Don't you dare blame Qingbao for everything!" The Old Madam snapped. "Do you think I'm so frail that I'm blind and deaf just because I don't leave the house?"

"I didn't." Mo Xiao frowned slightly.

"Let me tell you something, boy," the Old Madam said coldly, "I have eyes and ears everywhere. I know everything you and Yun Qiqi have been up to."

Mo Xiao looked at the Old Madam. "Grandma, nothing happened between us. We are innocent."

Mo Xiao wasn't lying.

To this day, Bai Qing was the only woman he had ever touched.

"I don't care about that," the Old Madam's voice was stern. "I just want to know—do you intend to marry Yun Qiqi?"

Mo Xiao's voice turned icy. "Yes."

"But you should know by now that I will never agree to it," the Old Madam said. "And I also know what you're thinking. You're waiting for me to die so no one can stop you from marrying her, aren't you?"

Mo Xiao said nothing.

"So, you've grown wings, have you?" The Old Madam suddenly smiled bitterly. "Let me tell you this—so long as I'm alive, you will never bring her into this family. Do you know how Old Madam Yun stopped Yun Qiqi's mother from marrying into the Yun family?"

Mo Xiao remembered it well.

"Mo Xiao, Bai Qing is a wonderful girl, but you failed to cherish her," the Old Madam's voice softened, filled with helplessness. "It's clear now that you don't deserve her. Bai Qing needs a man who is gentle, strong, and wholly devoted to her. And that man, Mo Xiao, is not you."

Mo Xiao's expression darkened.

"I'm giving my blessing for your divorce from Bai Qing," the Old Madam said calmly.

Mo Xiao's brows knitted. "Grandma, what did you say?"

"You heard me right. I approve of your divorce from Bai Qing," the Old Madam's voice was firm. "Are you so thrilled that you think you're dreaming?"
