I have a plan

"You God's forsaken girl, get your ass back home now! The voice from the phone said and ended the call immediately. Lucy was shocked and worried about what must have happened.

After what seemed like hours, she weakly stood up and left the hospital to go out and clear her head because everything happening seemed like an illusion to her.

Lucy didn't know how she made it out of the hospital building and entered the first carb She sighted. It was obvious that She was really sad.

From the look on the driver's face, he was contemplating on whether to ask her what's wrong or just mind his business. He couldn't endure the cold atmosphere anymore and he decided to ask.

"Miss, are you okay?". He finally asked.

Lucy, who was so lost in her misery, didn't reply to the driver. The driver tried again.

"Hello, is everything alright?".

The driver still got the same silence from her.

As they went further, the driver remembered that she didn't give him her destination.

"Miss, what's your destination?, you didn't tell me earlier. I know you must be passing through a lot, but please take it easy on yourself," the driver said.

"Just keep driving". Lucy responded coldly.

"Alright Miss". The driver replied gently.

The driver kept on driving again. For about thirty minutes Lucy still didn't talk about her destination. The driver decided to take a different road entirely towards a park, obviously to test if She would tell him to stop. But to his surprise, She didn't say a word.

"Miss please if you don't have anywhere to go, then come down from the car. I've been driving for an hour, but you seem lost and don't even know where you are going. Your parents might be worried about you. You can't just trust any stranger with your safety".

At the mention of parents, Lucy started sobbing. The driver packed the car beside the road, and turned back to really know what's wrong with the stranger he carried.

"Miss, did I say something wrong?".

"I'm sorry to bother you with my mood, please how much is your money? Lucy tried to compose herself knowing that whatever that's going on with her is not the driver's fault.

"Don't worry about the money, but whatever it is please take it easy. Life is filled with ups and downs. You just have to endure it when life throws hardship your way". The driver said.

Thank you sir. You're really kind. I will get down now. I want to walk along this park, maybe I will feel better after taking a walk". Lucy responded politely.

"Alright Miss, please take care of yourself and don't enter into a stranger's car like that again, not everyone is as good as me". The driver teased her.

"Alright sir, thank you". Lucy said to the middle aged man before coming down from the car. And immediately, the man then drove off.

"Why do I keep meeting good drivers? She thought to herself as she stared at the car moving away.

Though Lucy didn't know what to do next, she walked lostly along the park.

The park was bustling, with cheerful adults and children. She looked around herself and wished She could just be one of these kids with parents.

She sat down on a bench along the park, and observed how the kids played with their parents. That didn't suit her mood because it made her so jealous of the kids and her tears were getting uncontrollable, so she decided to leave the park to go home and prepare for her dad's funeral. Because, it seems everything happening around her mocks her condition.

When She got home, her step mom and step-sister were watching a movie in the sitting room. There was a man lavishly dressed sitting on the single cushion, sipping his glass of the most expensive wines in the Edward's mansion.

They saw Lucy come inside and from her look anyone could tell that she was in severe pain.

"Lucy, you wasted so much time. You kept us and Mr Blackwood waiting for so long. Madam Theresa scolded.

"Why are you standing there like a frustrated fellow? Come and say hi to Mr Blackwood," Martha said in a harsh tone.

It was only Lucy that knew what she was passing through. She kept mute on them as tears ran down her cheeks. She had no one to console her, instead her wicked family.

"Hey, you don't stand there and keep me waiting. Come here! Mr Blackwood ordered.

Immediately, madam Theresa walked up to where Lucy was standing and whispered to her ears. "He is now your husband, so you have to respect yourself." She dragged Lucy by the wrist and made her kneel before Mr Blackwood.

Mr Blackwood is known for his rudeness and ill treatment towards poor people. In fact, seeing poor people itches his sight and he does everything to humiliate them and step on their rights.

He has no feelings for humans, especially ladies due to his ugly experience with his ex wife.

He found out that his ex wife was terribly cheating on him.

Not just that, she had several abortions which damaged her womb before she met Mr Blackwood but never told him about that. Mr Blackwood visited several hospitals, thinking that the fault was from him.

When Mr Blackwood found out about everything about her, he was broken and swore not to fall in love with any woman again.

Now, he wants to marry Lucy just to birth human heir since he was already getting old. That was why he didn't bother if it was Martha or Lucy.

"Mr Blackwood, I just lost my dad and I know I can't go back on the agreement. I will marry you, but please, give me some time to bury and mourn my dad," Lucy pleaded while she was still kneeling.

"What the hell! Am I the cause of your father's death? Mr Blackwood exclaimed. He turned to madam Theresa angrily. "This was not our plan, madam Theresa."

"I'm sorry Mr Blackwood, she is just out of her mind, I will talk to her."

"No, don't worry," Mr Blackwood said. "I will give her just two weeks in respect to her father who was holding a contract with my company. After two weeks, I'll pick her."

"Thank you so much Mr Blackwood," Lucy said but was ignored.

Mr Blackwood stood up and left as two men who were in suits followed him immediately.

Immediately he left, madam Theresa dragged Lucy by her ears. "Listen, you better don't spoil my plans, if not, you will see the worst side of me."

Lucy cried bitterly and regretted everything happening to her. She has nowhere to run to but follow madam Theresa's plans.

Lucy walked towards them with her arms across her chest.

"He's dead. I hope you two are happy now.

"You should be grateful that the liability is out of your life than coming here to seek pity," Martha mocked while she and her mother laughed loudly.

"I knew you never loved your dad as you pretend to. If not, you would have accepted the offer and saved his life a long time ago." Madam Theresa said.

"What do you mean? He was lying hopelessly in the hospital while you barged a billion-dollar contract from his company you took over and you refused to pay the bills for his treatment! All you could do was to propose a marriage which would benefit you before you could help! Lucy scolded.

But before she could complete her statement, she received a sound slap from Madam Theresa.

"You two are so despicable. What was I even thinking, telling you that my dad is dead. Like as if you two have hearts. Let me make this clear, I will surely get my revenge, every single thing you've taken, cars, house, stocks, and even the company. I will get every bit of it". Lucy said fiercely before walking towards the stairs.

Madam and Martha were shocked at how fiercely She spoke to them.

"Mum please don't bother yourself about her ranting, she has nothing left. So I'm sure she's just bluffing". Martha said, trying to calm her mother's temper.

"I'm not bothered about her, I'm concerned about Mr Blackwood getting angry and maybe asking for a refund of the money he gave to us and probably withdraw the contract," madam Theresa frowned a bit.

"That's true mum. And if we don't get Lucy to him after the two weeks he said, he might come for us" Martha said, pegging her two fingers on her jaw.

"I have a plan! Martha added joyfully.
