"I trust you, my dear." Madam Theresa praised her.
"But always be careful," she added.
Both mother and daughter laughed and continued with their devilish discussions.
Lucy ignored them and went to her dad's study room and took out an old frame of her mum, Dad and herself during their vacation. She sat down on her Dad's reading chair, embraced the frame, and sobbed bitterly.
The thought of suicide crossed her mind. But she remembered she had promised her dad revenge. "How would I get that if I kill my self," she thought to herself.
"Mom, Dad, I never thought you two would leave me like this, who would care for me now. You have really left a big scar on my heart, I will just have to move on. Mom, Dad you will always be part of me. Farewell to you".
Lucy cried her heart out and after a while, she drifted off to sleep.

"Dad, where are you taking me to?" Lucy asked curiously.
"My princess, I'm taking you to go and meet your mom, we will live together". Mr Edward responded, touching her soft cheeks.
"Really?, I'm so happy Dad, I really missed mom".
"That's why I'm taking you to her, we are almost there".
"Dad this place is so beautiful, I smell fresh grass and there are also different beautiful flowers around. Please Dad can I pick some for mom?". Lucy asked curiously, admiring the beautiful flowers.
"You have to choose between picking the flowers or meeting your mom". Mr Edward opted.
Lucy was surprised at the options. "Dad I don't understand, mom loves flowers".
"I know, but this car doesn't stop, if you haven't gotten to your destination, so if you really want to get the flowers that means you were not meant to accompany me on this journey". Mr Edward explained.
Lucy, who still didn't understand her dad, looked at him confused. "Dad, you are confusing me, you know I'm young and you are speaking in riddles".
"Lucy, do you really want to give your mom the flowers?". Mr Edward asked.
"Yes Dad because she would love it".
"Alright get down and get the flowers".
"Dad you lied to me, you said the car doesn't stop, but it has stopped now".
"My dear, I don't want to part with you but since you have gotten to your destination, just be happy and one day you will see me and your mom once again". Mr Edward said and drove off.
"Dad I want to go with you, just wait for me to get the flowers".
"Alright Dad, I'm done picking the...Dad! Dad, where are you!?
Just then, Lucy felt a cold liquid on her body and she jolted up from sleep, panting.
"Oh! Martha, what's all this?
"You can't be sleeping by this time. Go and make breakfast." Martha replied.
Lucy looked at the clock and it was morning already. "How did I sleep this long? For almost twelve hours?
"Can't you hear me? I said, get into the kitchen and make me breakfast! Martha ordered.
Lucy looked at Martha sinisterly, not knowing what reply to give to her.
"It's just early, and you're demanding for food? By the way, do I look like a cook? Or you missed your way to Sophia's room? Lucy asked.
Lucy stood up from the chair where she slept and walked closer to Martha. "I am a daughter of this family the same way you are, you can't order me around. Stay in your lane."
"From now on, I will cease to do any house chores. If you and your selfish mother can't contain it, then go hire more maids." Lucy scolded.
Martha was really shocked by her response and she left angrily to report to her mum.
Lucy picked up her phone to check the time.!"Oh! It's past four already? I need to hasten up with my preparations." She said to herself.
She knew that she had lots of arrangements and the fact that the hospital would spend more time before they could release her father's body was enough reason for her to wake up early.
She hurriedly dialed the priest's number to remind him of the burial mass as she had already gotten a space at the cemetery.
As she was arranging her father's room where she had slept, every item in the room reminds her of a one time happy moment in her family.
Lucy tried to hold her tears not until she saw a box that contained a jade pendant her father wanted to use to surprise her mother before the tragic accident which made her not to get home to see it.
Lucy bursted into tears as she read through the letter attached to the gift. Mr Edward, her father had hid the box for so many years and has kept it as a memory in remembrance of his late wife.
The incident became fresh to Lucy as her tears became unbearable. The more she tries to let go of one item, she sees another item that would cause her more tears.
After a long period of crying and consoling herself, Lucy decided to go and prepare for her dad's burial.
"And where do you think you are going? A harsh voice stopped Lucy as she was about to go out.
Lucy turned only to see her stepmother giving her a disdainful look.
"I'm going to bury my father," she replied.
"So, because you want to bury your father, you want everyone to starve to death? Why didn't you make breakfast before leaving?
"Mum, please, don't you think it's too early for this? By the way, when did I start doing chores in this house? What happened to the maids? Was this a conspiracy or-
She was interrupted by a slap from madam Theresa. "You have lost every right in this house. As long as I am concerned, you will obey my rules or you leave the house," madam Theresa cussed.
"Leave the house? Where am I supposed to go? Of course, this is my father's house," Lucy responded, using her palm to hold her cheek.
"You father is dead, this house belongs to my daughter and I. By the way, what is the evidence to show that it's your father's house? I have the documents all changed to my name and signed by me," madam Theresa groaned.
"Mum, you refused to take care of my dad, now that he is dead, can I at least bury him? Lucy pleaded, her voice trembling.
Immediately, Lucy's phone started ringing. She was surprised to see the call because she didn't know that time had passed.
She clicked the green icon and placed the phone on her left ear.
