[Dungeon "Team Magma Base" (completed), the rewards are as follows:]
[1. Random Advanced Pokémon Items]
[2. Rare TM]
[3. Team Pokémon Random Exclusive Items]
[4. Designated Pokémon Mega Stone] (reward for completing side missions)
[5. Red Orb (Imprisoned)] (First completion special reward)
Chris reviewed the dungeon rewards with great interest.
After defeating Mega Camerupt, Maxie retreated. Chris wanted to pursue him, but Team Magma Executive "Courtney" emerged to block his path. When Greninja defeated Courtney in a flash, the dungeon concluded.
The script matched what happened with Team Aqua. The leaders of both organizations were destined to escape, and their true battlefield would likely be in Sootopolis City.
But Chris wasn't concerned about that now. All he wanted was to examine the dungeon rewards he'd earned.
The Red Orb (Imprisoned) didn't need much inspection, as its attributes were the same as the Blue Orb. Both would need the main storyline to be completed for additional effects.
For the designated Pokémon Mega Stone, Chris selected one for Aggron based on his previous planning.
With this addition, his team still lacked several key Mega Stones.
Salamence, Aerodactyl, and his future Gengar (once Haunter evolved) would all need their own.
To unlock Haunter's Imprisonment, Chris planned to wait until Gardevoir reached level 75. With both Mega Gengar and Mega Gardevoir fighting together, battles would become much easier. Chris felt slightly vulnerable relying on Gardevoir alone.
Aerodactyl had recently reached level 50.
However, it still wasn't ready to join Chris's rotation team. He decided to set it aside for now. While Salamence had sufficient strength, its bond with Chris remained too low, so that would also have to wait.
After clearing so many dungeons, Chris had figured out the patterns. The bases of villainous organizations in each region were dungeons, and even the relatively weak Team Skull's base could yield Totem Stickers. He wondered what rewards awaited in the bases of Team Flare, Team Galactic, and Team Plasma.
"I'm sure I'll find the Mega Stones I need when the time comes," he thought.
Moving on to the next reward.
This time, the exclusive item was for Gardevoir.
A white top hat – the Cap of Consciousness.
Cap of Consciousness: All moves consume half the stamina. (Exclusive for Ralts, Kirlia, Gardevoir, Gallade; ineffective when held by other Pokémon)
All moves consume half the stamina.
The most obvious in-game effect would be that when Gardevoir held this item, the PP values of all moves would be doubled!
In reality, halving the energy consumed by moves meant that using abilities became simpler and faster.
Therefore, Gardevoir could use "Teleport" to move more efficiently, and "Future Sight" could last longer with more detailed visions!
This was much better than just increasing the power of Psychic-type moves.
Chris was very satisfied with Gardevoir's exclusive item and looked forward to seeing its effects when it reached two stars.
Chris placed the hat on Gardevoir's head. Even if it didn't work immediately, the top hat was still an excellent accessory for Gardevoir.
The rare TM he received was called "Trick," a Psychic-type move. Its specific effect was to exchange held items between Pokémon.
This wasn't a move Gardevoir could learn naturally, but it could learn it through the TM.
If Gardevoir was equipped with its exclusive item and used Trick to exchange items with an opponent, the Cap of Consciousness would be ineffective for the opponent's Pokémon.
It would be equivalent to taking the opponent's item while giving nothing useful in return, unless the opponent also had a Pokémon from the Gardevoir family.
Whether it would be beneficial for Gardevoir to receive the opponent's held item would depend on the situation.
There was no need to worry about losing the exclusive item permanently, because both in-game and in reality, items exchanged through "Trick" had to be returned after battle.
However... if it was an item exchange with a wild Pokémon, that could lead to some interesting opportunities.
The last reward was a special treasure.
Critical Strike Lucky Egg: Experience gained increased by 100%, with a chance for 1-3 times critical experience bonus.
"What?!" Chris stared at the egg in his hand in surprise.
He had known about Lucky Eggs for a long time. He had even created a high-quality Lucky Egg as a held item for leveling Pokémon, but this was his first time seeing a Secret treasure-tier Lucky Egg. He'd never even heard of such an item before!
A 100% experience improvement meant doubling the experience gained. The standard Lucky Egg only provided 50%.
And on top of that, there was a chance for a 1-3 times critical experience multiplier.
"Wow, if these multipliers stack, the maximum experience gained could be six times the original amount," Chris pondered, rubbing his chin.
This item would be perfect for leveling up his other Pokémon.
Just like when he'd cleared the Team Aqua and Team Magma bases, the Lucky Egg had given Greninja a significant boost. Walking through Team Magma's base, the experience gained from each triple critical strike was probably enough for Greninja to gain one or two levels.
"Perhaps I should resume group battles!" Chris thought, still rubbing his chin.
The experience gained from defeating wild Pokémon would definitely be lower than the experience from defeating an NPC Trainer. But if it was multiplied by five and then by three, that would be fifteen times the usual experience.
That seemed worthwhile.
Chris put away the Lucky Egg and exited through the Team Magma base entrance.
Outside, the sky was scorchingly hot with a merciless sun. The surrounding temperature was at least several degrees higher than when Chris had entered the Team Magma base.
But only a minute later, dark clouds blocked the burning sun, followed by a downpour. The rain cooled the earth that had been scorched by the intense heat.
Then, a minute later, the dark clouds dissipated again, and the blazing sun reappeared, spreading its "enthusiasm."
Chris immediately understood what was happening.
Groudon and Kyogre were at war.
Only these two legendary Pokémon could influence the weather of an entire continent by themselves.
Chris quickly summoned Salamence and used Fly with Sootopolis City as his destination.
A prompt immediately appeared on his device.
[Do you want to enter Story Mode?]
This was the first time Chris had seen such a notification.
Considering that two legendary Pokémon were battling in a way that could destroy the world, this special treatment seemed completely normal!
Chris immediately chose to enter.
