This is a very nice story. The MC's cheat is unique, something I rarely see from Pokemon fics and also well executed. The premise of the story is pretty interesting, and the fic takes part in urban life, so it's a completely new world where Pokemon exists in the modern era. Although there are few mistranslations and mishaps in the character names, the fic is mostly well translated.

The translation is great, and the plot is good compared to other Chinese works, but that doesn't mean much... The idea is very creative and the world that mixes the real world with Pokémon is interesting, but the execution is a bit disappointing, he is too focused on catching shinys, even when their shiny form is worse than the common one, and his situation is not stable enough for him to waste time on nonsense.

This is an updated review after giving the story more of a chance and reading all 147 currently available chapters. The translation quality is overall good. The TL changes the Chinese names to western names, although they sometimes fail to change some of the names, leading to awkward situations where you don't know which character is being talked about, forcing you to puzzle it out through context clues. Originally I complained that the MC wastes a lot of time on catching Pokémon he doesn't immediately need and even wastes time shiny hunting, when he could just power-level his starter, speedrun the game and have enough time to hunt for perfect IV shiny Pokémon. After reading more of the story it's clear that the game in this story is far more difficult than the regular Emerald edition and speedrunning it would pretty much be impossible. I still dislike the fact that the story is set in a version of the real world with Pokémon instead of the world of the Pokémon anime. The parts of the story that focus on the "real" world tend to be more boring compared to the parts about the game. At least that's my personal experience so far.

This story has a unique and interesting cheat. I also haven't seen any issues with the translation. I hope the translator keeps going. My only slight complaint is that there is a lot of text that isn't the story. It is only minir annoyance as I get that they need to advertise to make a living so thats why I don't see it as something that would reduce my rating.
