Chapter 25 Jiraiya Seems More Suitable Than Orochimaru

"Fine."

Tsunade put her little uncle away and waved to Kushina. "Go to your room and rest quickly. Your brother Mark made a little mistake, and I'm educating him."

Kushina was still young, so she couldn't let her see these messy books. Otherwise, Mark would be unlucky again, and even she, Tsunade, would have to deal with it.

"Oh."

Kushina could only look at Mark sympathetically, but she didn't dare to help or plead for mercy. She obediently went back to her room to rest.

After Kushina left, Uzumaki Mito's voice came from the living room: "If the child is disobedient, it's probably because his skin is itchy. Just give him a spanking."

Being lustful isn't a problem, and even the Third Hokage is one of them. But being lustful doesn't prevent him from becoming a Hokage and a hero in the ninja world. However, if a child has such tendencies before growing up, that's a problem. It needs to be dealt with.

"Grandmother?!"

It was one thing for her not to save him, but why add insult to injury? His sister didn't want to hit him in the first place, but now, he was done for.

Mark's eyes widened, not believing what had just come out of his grandma's mouth.

"Your boy is doomed."

After receiving Uzumaki Mito's order, Tsunade laughed, tore the book into pieces, then rubbed her wrists and walked toward Mark.

"Sister, no, I was wrong! I won't dare again…"

Mark was in deep trouble.

Kushina, hiding in her room and listening to the screams outside, could only observe three seconds of silence for Mark.

With Uzumaki Mito giving the order and Tsunade taking action herself, no one could save Mark. Even if Senju Hashirama and Senju Tobirama were resurrected, they would hide when faced with Uzumaki Mito.

While Mark was suffering, Shigeru was busy processing materials and starting to make puppets.

First, he needed to prepare the animal carcass, removing unnecessary parts, such as internal organs. Orochimaru didn't go out of his way to clean the internal organs, so Shigeru had to do these tasks himself.

Since the amount of materials was quite large, it took a lot of Shigeru's time. By the time he went to work the next day, he looked like he hadn't woken up.

There was a more important surgery today. Tsunade didn't report to the medical department but came directly to the hospital. Seeing Shigeru yawning repeatedly and Tsunade drinking tea with her legs crossed, she looked him up and down.

"What's wrong? Couldn't sleep last night after reading the book Mark bought?"

"???"

What the hell?

Raising his hands, Shigeru paused mid-stretch.

"You found out about Mark buying books? I was wondering whether I should tell you it's not good for children to read that stuff."

"I personally caught that little brat and punished him severely."

At the mention of it, Tsunade's anger flared. Mark had been beaten badly yesterday and was still limping when he went to school today. Tsunade didn't even heal him to make sure he would remember the lesson.

"It's time to handle that. If he just saw it out of curiosity, it's not a big deal, but if he's actively seeking it out…"

Shigeru didn't know how to express it. Mark was only eight years old!

Eight years old!!

Is this what an eight-year-old should be doing?

"I'll tell Jiraiya to stay away from him in the future." Tsunade didn't look too pleased either.

Jiraiya was just a pervert, but he was setting a bad example for kids.

"That pervert even wants Mark to become his disciple. I can't imagine what Mark would turn into if he really became his student."

Mark was eight years old and getting closer to graduating from the ninja academy. Tsunade had already started thinking about finding a qualified teacher for him. When Jiraiya found out, he kept recommending himself, but Tsunade ignored him.

"Jiraiya as Mark's teacher?" Shigeru poured himself a glass of water. Jiraiya might have many faults, but his ability to teach his students was definitely top-notch.

Although Orochimaru was no slouch either, Shigeru preferred Jiraiya. Orochimaru was just too extreme. He was like a ticking bomb, ready to fall into darkness at any time.

"I think Jiraiya would be a good fit."

"So, I'm planning to ask Orochimaru to be Mark's teacher. Mark admires him a lot…"

Shigeru was trusted, so Tsunade didn't mind discussing this with him, but she was surprised when he interrupted her.

"What did you say?"

Shigeru put down his cup and said seriously, "I think Jiraiya would be a good teacher. As for Orochimaru, I personally don't recommend it."

"Why?"

Tsunade folded her arms and leaned back, curious about his reasoning.

"It's just a feeling, but I wouldn't want to be around someone like Orochimaru. Being near him feels like having a lion lurking in the shadows, watching you."

"Of course, this is just my personal opinion. Mark is your brother, so it's your decision who to pick as his teacher."

Orochimaru was a talented teacher and cared for Mark, but Shigeru still preferred Jiraiya. At least with Jiraiya, even if the child picked up a few bad habits, he would still be steered in the right direction.

Tsunade was deep in thought. Shigeru wasn't the first person to express concern about Orochimaru, and many who had worked with him felt the same. Though Mark usually liked hanging around Jiraiya, he admired Orochimaru more. Because of this, Tsunade had been leaning toward choosing Orochimaru as Mark's mentor, instead of leaving the village to assign his ninja team.

"Aha…"

"Did you overdo it last night?"

Seeing Shigeru yawning again, Tsunade frowned. There was an important surgery ahead—could Shigeru handle it in this condition?

"You didn't mess up, did you?"

"No," Shigeru shook his head. "Orochimaru gave me the first batch of materials yesterday, and I processed them overnight. It was late when I finished, so I didn't get enough sleep."

"It won't affect today's surgery, though. Don't worry."

"Good."

Since Shigeru promised it wouldn't interfere with the surgery, Tsunade said nothing more.

Taking advantage of a slow morning, Shigeru took a short nap, and by the time the surgery began, he was in better spirits. For ninjas, staying up late was nothing out of the ordinary, but the concentration required for processing the materials had taken its toll.

During the surgery, Shigeru assisted Tsunade, and it went smoothly. As soon as they left the operating room, Tsunade had a slight smirk that she could barely suppress.

To quote Shigeru, "With her salary in hand and pockets full, Tsunade-hime has the capital to start enjoying herself."

As for how long this money would last, only the heavens knew.

"I'm coming over to your place for dinner later. I'll go to the market and buy some groceries, and I also want to see what kind of puppet you're making."

Tsunade-hime was in a good mood and planning to contribute to living expenses.

"Sure."

Shigeru nodded. He needed Tsunade to spread the word about his special puppets, so having her over was perfect.

Cooking her a meal was a small price to pay.
