Chapter 2 Mental Illness
Ethan had never looked so wretched in front of Thea.
Ignoring Thea's reaction, he shielded his chest with his shirt, took a big step, turned around, closed the door, and left the study.
Thea looked at the closed door of the room, her nose sniffing the faint smell of disinfectant in the air, and always felt ...
something wasn't quite right.
Ethan left and went straight to the garage.
The gas pedal was stepped on to one hundred and twenty yards, smoked a whole carton of cigarettes along the way, and after rushing to the institute, he ignored the security's obstruction and forced his way into the laboratory on the ninth floor.
Inside the lab, Stanley, wearing a white lab coat and doing experiments, looked at Ethan in shock, "Are you crazy? Are you crazy? Can you just break into my lab?"
Ethan's eyebrows are depressed, a foot kicked over a million dollar test bench, the bottles and cans on it scattered all over the place, so spectacular.
Stanley was shaking with pain and anger, "Ethan, you can't coax your own woman, don't be angry with my lab!"
Ethan looked at him coldly, sneered, "also Oxford University graduated MD, three years and even a disease can not be cured, you every day in the laboratory to guard the useless!"
Stanley pinched his own middle to keep himself from passing out, his trembling fingertips pointed at Ethan, "You, you shut up! If it wasn't for my medication, that Stepford wife you've been harboring in your golden house would have lost control of her mind and become a real lunatic! Wouldn't be the same as now, would only lose consciousness at night to self-harm!"
"I know you love that Thea what's-his-name of yours, and hid from her that she herself was mentally ill in order to get her cured! It was you who lied about being mentally ill. I also know you've spent the last three years working your *ss off to get her well, but Ethan! I'm telling you, you might be able to scare off your competition by getting mad at the mall, but even if you trash my lab, Thea's illness won't get better!"
A pot of cold water splashed Ethan through his heart.
He disheveledly leaned against the cold wall, stared at the room full of dripping instruments, and closed his eyes.
"Put another fifty million dollars into you, and buy any new drugs to try,"
Stanley's eyes lit up.
"To tell you the truth, Ethan, I had a meeting with the experts over in Europe last week, and there really is a viable way to cure Thea's disease as well."
Ethan snapped his eyes up, his gaze like a falcon.
"Stanley, you better not be lying to me."
******
Thea realized that Ethan had been very busy the past two days.
Except for when he was facing her, he was in a hurry, coming and going ...
But ...
Thinking of the new wound on her neck, Thea couldn't help but sneer.
As busy as he was, he hadn't forgotten to come in the night to vent.
Thea nestled into a deckchair in the back garden, covering the wound on his neck with a blanket, remembering the first time he came to Ethan's family.
Back then, Ethan's mother hadn't liked her, but she hadn't been as crazy or extreme.
Noah, although not so hotly in love with her, but firmly chose her, not to dislike her origin, family, but to bring her in front of everyone, openly and honestly announced that she was his girlfriend, Mrs. ...
Her love affair was Noah, and her heartbeat was Noah.
Everything changed on that rainy night.
She had just come out of the hospital with her pregnancy report.
Two months pregnant, she was pleasantly surprised.
When she was about to share the news with Noah, it was Ethan who answered the phone.
He said that Noah had been in a car accident, his brakes failed and he drove into the ocean, his body was gone.
He said, Thea, I love you, can I court you?
Thea can't remember much after that.
It seems that she was rubbed by the car and collapsed in front of the hospital in grief.
When she woke up again, the baby was gone.
Ethan's mother said that Ethan forced the doctor to do the operation.
Thea fell asleep in the rocking chair.
Her face was wet and soft, and it seemed like someone was kissing her.
She opened her eyes and saw a familiar silhouette.
"Noah?"
She called out in surprise.
When the silhouette became clearer, revealing Ethan's cold, three-dimensional features, the smile under Thea's eyes instantly disappeared.
A faint layer of disgust surfaced.
"Ethan, what are you doing?"
The look of disgust in her eyes was so obvious that Ethan thought he had gotten used to it, but at this moment, his heart still couldn't help but be flooded with stabbing pain.
He had been in a good mood.
Stanley had given him new medication.
After three months of taking it, along with some external therapies, it might cure Thea's disease.
She wouldn't have so many patchy wounds on her body anymore.
But the look in Thea's eyes made his mood hit rock bottom instantly.
"Ethan, when the hell are you going to leave me alone."
Thea said coldly, "Or, you tell me when you've had enough fun."
Play enough?
In her heart, was his deep love always in disguise?
Ethan couldn't help but let out a cold laugh and forcefully kissed Thea's lips, unlike his previous gentleness, this time, he was tyrannical and wanton, and even tore open her skirt in the midst of Thea's shrieks ...
"Ethan!"
Thea looked at him in horror, desperately trying to break free.
Ethan, however, lashed out, pinning her to the rocking chair and forcing his way inside despite her struggles ...
Facts.
Angry men don't know how to be compassionate at all.
Until Thea just couldn't take it anymore and spilled out a faint sob, "Ethan, I'm in pain ..."
Only then did the man on top of him stop, kissing her forehead hair, his voice tinted with lustful huskiness, "Bear with it."
...
Until the evening.
Only then did he let her go.
Thea was spread out in Ethan's arms, loathing herself beyond measure.
Obviously at first, she was reluctant, but every time she got to the back, she couldn't control herself.
Incredible fit ...
Slap.
She slapped herself hard.
Thea, you look disgusting, to whom?
Ethan clutched her hand and said unhappily, ''Thea, have you grown capable? You've learned to slap yourself?"
Thea tilted her head to look at him, "What else? I slap you?"
Ethan moved his face forward, signaling that she could slap the left side.
Thea's hand, half raised, dropped feebly at the sight of his serious expression.
A sourness welled up under her eyes.
If only, Ethan was really an animal.
But he was a beast to everyone, but indulged her to the extreme.
He is the president of a company worth 10 billion dollars, a person who can turn the European market upside down by stomping his foot, but his face, in these years, I don't know how many slaps she has received.
Thea's heart welled up with a strong sense of powerlessness.
She lay in Ethan's arms and closed her eyes.
Today, it's already the third day, right?
Ethan's mother had already put the medicine in the study, right?
When will all this sinful ... relationship end?
*****
The night is brightly lit.
Ethan was still on a videoconference, looking across his computer at a group of older foreign geezers bickering over a clause.
There was a knock on the door.
Ethan thought it was the butler and said carelessly, "Enter."
Who knew it was Thea in her pajamas carrying coffee.
He closed his computer and quickly took the coffee from her, frowning at the thin nightgown she wore.
"Wearing too thin."
Thea said unconcerned, "I have a jacket in the house."
Ethan turned and headed for her bedroom.
Thea, however, went to the window and felt behind the curtains for the hidden capsule.
After dissolving the powder in the capsule in her coffee, she sat at Ethan's desk, looking at the foggy coffee, her fingers unconsciously touching her stomach.
Inside, was there really a little life?
