Chapter 9: Duke Ming's departure

Mo He and Mo Yi rode their toward the north without stopping. Normally the distance would take half a month for a carriage, but they arrived there in two days.

They both stopped their horses in front of the gate of military barracks. The soldiers who protect the fortress pointed swords at them." Who are you?" Mo He and Mo Yi's suspicious figures alerted them.

Mo He and Mo Yi opened their dark cloaks. " We are servants of Duke Mo's mansion. First Lady Jiaoying asked us to bring something for General." Mo He shouted toward them. Those guards looked at others. " We need to check your belonging first." 

Mo He And Mo Yi did not panic and just smirked at those people on the fortress. " How dare you questioned First lady Jiaoying's servants ? First lady Jiaoying is General's mother and General had already told all guards to open the fortress for First lady Jiaoying's men without question. Did you all forget general's order? " Hearing that those guards was panic and one man released the ropes to let the soldiers downstair opened the gates. 

Mo Yi let his horse trotted in to the barracks along with Mo He ." Go! " Before their figures disappeared from those soldiers' eyesight. Mo Yi turned back and looked at them on the fortress. 

These people dared to think they could do anything from general's eyes. You all were just some street rats from second prince. Mo Yi smirked mockingly at them and turned back Mo He who was waiting for him. " Let's go. We will handle those people next time." Mo He signaled him.

Without waiting long, They arrived in front of Duke Ming's camp.

Mo He and Mo Yi stopped their horses and jumped down. They handed the horses' ropes to soldiers who was guarding in front of Duke Ming's camp. They saluted. " Master, we are First Lady Jiaoying's men. We have here to bring you something." while they were informing the person inside, they was also scanning the surrounding.

Inside the camp , there was a man with an imposing aura standing near the military map on the desk. His handsome face and narrow eyes was so similar to Wei Yang and Wei Yingzhen. 

The man inside looked up with a burning gazes when he heard First Lady Jiaoying's men. His voice sounded roughly. " Come in." 

Mo He and Mo Yi walked in and knelt down. " Master, Something has happened to Crown Prince and Princess Zhen." General Ming's eyes dilated. " What did you say? " Mo He and Mo Yi felt evenmore discourage to bring this piece of news to their master. " During the time Crown Prince and Princess Zhen coming back from Tiantan Temple and went down the Mount Tai, They encountered an attack from Bo Mingchuan and his men. " 

Wei Yong-Duke Ming's hands were shaking. He looked straight to Mo He and Mo Yi who was kneeling in front of him. " Continues " his voice sound dryly. " Chen Fu said Bo Mingchuan was using strange weapon which made Her Highness caught of guard and everyone was injured badly. So princess let Chen Fu and some men bring His highness back to the prince's mansion secretly while she, Xiu Jing, Xiu Jia and others was still at Mount Tai. " 

Wei Yong rose up from the chair angrily. " How were they now? " His eyes turned scarlet blood. Second Prince, how dare you ? Your emperor father had not died yet and you dare to attacked Xiao Yang and Xiao Zhen. Did those people think he dare not to rebel ? 

Mo He answered. " Mo Chi sent us to inform you immediately after Chen Fu asked for Mo Tan, Mo Ling and Mo Zengyi to assist Chen Tu in treating the prince. " Wei Yong closed his eyes painfully. " So there is still no news about Xiao Zhen. Xiao Yang must have injured badly that his men need to ask Mo Dark guards to help." 

Wei Yong sneered as his narrow eyes became more gloomy as he was in a battle field. Mo He and Mo Yi shivered in the gloomy atmosphere. They couldn't help but remembered how Wei Yong used to fell into madness. It was the time when he got the news that previous empress passed away due to poison. 

They were very young around ten years old the same age as Crown Prince saw it with their own eyes how their proud and fearless master became mad in front of the body of previous empress and he cried out in agony when he saw the lifeless prince who kept holding on to empress's hand. 

Mo Yi couldn't see their master become like that anymore. " Master, Crown Prince should have woke up. " Wei Yong's eyes had more clarity when he heard Mo Yi's words. " You're right. I should go to him." Wei Yong knitted his temple lightly. 

It's not time for him to be mad. He needed to stay by Wei Yang's side. Wei Yang must have felt the same way as what he felt too. He couldn't lost control . The two children need him. 

Wei Yang walked out hurriedly." Mo He and Mo Yi , You stay in the barracks to hide the news of my disappearance. This general will go back to the capital. " He also took his sword with him.

" Yes, master." Mo He and Mo Yi obeyed and stood up when they saw Wei Yang left. Mo He taunted at Mo Yi beside him." You dare to talk to master when he couldn't even control himself. Do you want to die under his sword? " Mo Yi just shrugged his shoulders at Mo He. " I know I won't die if I call out prince and princess. " 

Mo He ignored the prideful boy near him as he lost in thought. As long as Master saw the prince, no matter how angry he was he would calm down eventually. He's no longer worried about master losing control. He just hope master could still listen to prince's persuasion about princess's matter otherwise if he made his move, it would alarm the second prince and emperor. Then the princess's disappearance would be known to second prince along with general who did not stay in the barrack. 

Crown prince also needed to handle General Han's matter when the princess disappeared. What if second prince tried to bring general Han to his side again but couldn't find him then second prince would suspect the coincidence of their disappearance. Second prince was a sly fox so how could he not find out more if there was a connection. He needed to arrange more men to help Master and Crown prince.

Everything would be easy if Uncle Mo Chi found Princess Zhen. Still he needed to arrange second plan. 

Mo He began working on his planned while Wei Yong hurriedly to capital.
