Yuli was determined to flip the script, to turn the tables on those who had tormented Diana for so long.
But she had noticed she was a bit late, so she didn't bother sightseeing Dale's College. She swiftly made her way to her first class, her eyes fixed on the door.
Initially, she had planned to make a majestic entrance, but she decided against it, considering Diana's reputation for tardiness.
Instead, she chose to blend in, arriving just in time.
After all, she wanted to flip the script, not script a flop!
As she entered the classroom, the teacher, Mrs. Johnson, stood at the front, writing on the board.
The students were seated, their eyes fixed on the teacher, their faces a picture of concentration. The classroom was a model of serenity, with rows of neatly arranged desks, and the soft hum of the air conditioner providing a soothing background noise.
Mrs. Johnson, a middle-aged woman with a kind face and a distinctive silver streak running through her hair, was teaching a math lesson.
Her voice was clear and concise, and the students seemed to be hanging on her every word.
Yuli's arrival caused a split distraction. All heads turned to her, their eyes wide with surprise. This wasn't the Diana they knew. The timid, bullied girl they were accustomed to was nowhere to be seen.
Instead, they saw a confident, poised young woman, with a radiant smile and an air of quiet authority.
Mrs. Johnson's eyes narrowed slightly as she took in Yuli's transformed appearance. "Why are you late, Diana?" she asked, a hint of surprise in her voice.
Yuli smiled sweetly, her eyes sparkling with politeness. "I'm sorry, Mrs. Johnson. It won't happen again." Her voice was like music, gentle and soothing.
"Have a seat immediately!" The teacher said to her and turned back to the board.
As she strolled in confidently, with a completely different air around her, she briefly scanned the room for familiar faces. But she noticed that Diana wasn't really friends with many of them.
At some point, she thought she felt a gaze of admiration coming from the side, but she decided to ignore it for now. Then, her gaze fell on him - the ringleader of the bullies, Ryder.
She stared straight at him, giving him the coldest, yet sweetest smile, which caused goosebumps to subconsciously fill his body. She noticed Xavier, a boy from the side, staring intently at her.
She briefly looked towards his direction and rolled her eyes at him before taking her seat. 'This is the dummy Diana is crushing on??' Yuli inwardly scoffed.
The class went smoothly, with everything flowing seamlessly. Yuli was surprised that she could understand everything Mrs. Johnson was teaching quite well.
She thought she might have difficulties, being from another world, but it all seemed comprehensible.
She found herself enjoying the class, liking how it flowed, and loving the human environment.
Every once in a while, she could feel the weight of curious stares upon her, but she chose to ignore them.
The chatter, the laughter, the cliques - it was all so fascinating.
And amidst it all, Yuli felt a small sense of belonging, of being part of something new and exciting. But she knows she doesn't belong here and would need to find ways to return to Winter Universe with Zeke at some point.
For now, Yuli was content to observe, to learn, and to bide her time. But the bullies had no idea what was coming their way. The new Diana was ready to take charge.
When the class ended, Yuli decided to take a walk throughout the school during break. She strolled through the hallways, taking in the sights and sounds of human high school life.
As Yuli walked through the hallways, she was struck by the school's serene atmosphere. The walls were adorned with vibrant green plants, and the floors were made of polished wood, giving the impression of a tranquil forest.
Large windows allowed natural light to pour in, illuminating the space and making her feel connected to nature.
'Are human schools usually like this?' Initially, Yuli had dreaded the idea of attending school, influenced by Diana's painful memories of bullying and isolation.
But now, as she navigated the hallways, she found herself appreciating the beauty of her surroundings. The sound of chirping birds and gentle chatter of students filled the air, creating a sense of calm.
Just as she was starting to feel at ease, a group of four girls cornered her, their eyes gleaming with malice.
They were the quintessential mean girls, dressed in skimpy outfits that seemed more suited to a nightclub than a school hallway.
The leader, Francine, the high school queen bee and niece of the principal, sneered at Yuli. Her blonde hair was styled in a perfect bob, and her eyes were heavily lined with mascara.
A sparkly nose ring glinted in the light, giving her an air of faux sophistication.
To Francine's right stood Rachel, a girl with a penchant for shouting and a wardrobe that seemed to consist entirely of tight, brightly colored clothing.
Her hair was a tangled mess of curls, and her eyes were lined with thick, black eyeliner.
On Francine's left was Emily, a petite girl with a mop of curly brown hair and a face full of acne. She looked like she'd rather be anywhere else, but her eyes gleamed with a hint of meanness.
The fourth girl, Sofia, was the most striking of the group. Her hair was a vibrant shade of pink, and her eyes were lined with glittery eyeshadow.
She looked like a reject from a bad 80s music video, but her eyes gleamed with a sharp intelligence.
The four girls formed a semi-circle around Yuli, their eyes flashing with hostility. Francine sneered, her voice dripping with venom. "Well, well, well. Look what we have here. The little bullied girl, all alone and vulnerable."
Yuli gazed straight through the group of obnoxious-looking girls, her expression unreadable.
She ignored them, her eyes fixed on a point beyond their shoulders. She didn't want to believe that they were actually talking to her, referring to her, the princess of Winter Universe, as "what."
The girls exchanged annoyed glances, their faces reddening with indignation. Francine, the leader, took a step forward, her voice rising. "Are we invisible to you?" she snapped, her eyes flashing with anger.
Yuli slowly turned her gaze to the girls, a hint of amusement dancing in her eyes. She snagged her gaze on Francine, a sly smile spreading across her face.
"I've been called many things," Yuli drawled, her voice dripping with sass. "Talented, brilliant, powerful, extraordinary... but alone and vulnerable?"
She shook her head, her smile growing wider. "That's cute. You think you can intimidate me? Like this? Hehe... even the frozen beast would freak out at the sight of you things!"
"Are you trying to say I'm ugly?!" Emily's voice shrilled.
Yuli shrugged. "It came from your mouth, and I was referring to you all, but you added a personal pronoun and said 'I.' It's good you know your looks could pass for that of a frozen troll, though."
Yuli was lashing out insults to them effortlessly, talking so casually that the color on their faces couldn't be painted, and a few students were already hanging around with their jaws on the floor at the difference in Diana, the known weak girl.
They were ever ready to witness some drama, because they were sure it was about to go down!
"Ha! I can see you've lost fear!" one of the girls spat.
"Oh please," Yuli said with an eye roll. "I've faced far worse foes than a bunch of mean girls. I'm not afraid of you. If anything, I'm actually quite amused and amazed at your audacity."
The girls seethed, their faces turned beet red with rage, their eyes blazing with fury. They couldn't believe where Diana got the guts to speak to them in that manner.
Francine's eyes narrowed, her voice dropping to a menacing whisper. "You think you're better than us? We'll show you what it means to cross us."
Yuli's smile never wavered. She raised an eyebrow, her sky blue eyes glinting with amusement. "I'm shaking in my boots."
