Resigning

Suzzy tilted her head to also see the person who entered, she scoffed while getting up.

" I will excuse myself, I'm right behind the door." She said.

Avery hesitated before nodding her head;

Alex was rooted to the floor when he was left with his secretary.

" Hey," he greeted

Avery nodded, Alex made himself comfortable; he fumbled with the words he was trying to say.

" I want to apologize for what happened earlier ."

Avery gave a mocking laugh; was he sorry? Or he was just pleasing himself?

"Mr. Gibson, I would like to resign," she said firmly.

Alex widened his eyes

" Resign?" he echoed to himself, trying to find out if he heard it wrong.

" Yes."

" Why?" Alex asked

" Are you asking me? I think you've forgotten, the reason " She cried.

Alex's heartthrob when he heard Avery's addressing him formally.

" You don't call me by my last name."

" I prefer to keep the formality."

Alex scoffed; formality, was she a joke to him? He clenched his hand into a fist before, he did something unexpected;

" I refuse to accept this. Have you ever thought about my feelings? Why are you selfish?" Alex bellowed.

Avery turned away with tears streaming down her face, she couldn't stay with someone she couldn't bring herself to trust. She has convinced herself in every possible way that Alex would be the best candidate to settle with.

Alex took in a deep breath to adjust his emotions, this wasn't the best time to argue with her. They both needed space and he knew it.

" I refuse to the nonsense you just spout Avery. " he exclaimed before dashing out from the ward.

Suzzy rushed inside when she saw Alex furious.

What just happened?

" Avery? " she called out to her friend.

Avery wiped her tears before looking at her friend. No matter how hard she tried to hide her emotions, Suzzy saw it.

" What happened? She asked

Avery shook her head, trying to impress the emotions that wanted to resurface.

" Avery," Suzzy whispered as she got closer to her friend.

" I want to resign," Avery mumbled.

Suzzy didn't need anyone to tell her why. Her friend has gone through a lot.

" You know I'll support any decision you take."

Suzzy assured her.

" But what about Aunty.?"

Avery pulled away from the hugging, wiping her tears.

" Charles will help," she said as she sniffed.

Alex stomps his feet to the parking lot. He was infuriated about Avery's decision. Did she want to resign? What about him?

Has she ever thought about his feelings for her?

He killed someone because of her, he went crazy because of her. And now she wants to resign.

He let out a hysterical laugh, Avery was his. And he was going to imprint that on her no matter what.

She became his when she started working at his company. She can call him crazy but hell burn and kill anything for her.

He drove his car out of the parking lot. He had to clear this frustration before he did the unthinkable.
