Chapter 262: The Black Stone Monument Test

The young girl tried to pull her sword back, but no matter how much strength she used, it felt as though the blade was welded into place, neither moving forward nor backward.

"Let go of my sword!" the girl demanded.

Mu Chen, complying with her request, released his fingers.

Without the resistance, the girl yanked her sword with such force that she fell backward, landing on the ground with a thud. The pain made her eyes well up with tears.

"Why did you let go?" she accused, rubbing her sore backside.

"Didn't you tell me to?" Mu Chen replied irritably.

"If I told you to let go, does that mean you actually should?" she retorted without shame.

"You told me to let go, and now you're blaming me for it. Can you make up your mind and be reasonable?" Mu Chen scolded.

The girl glared at him. As she looked up, she realized Mu Chen was unexpectedly handsome.

Extending his hand, Mu Chen offered to help her up. The girl hesitated but eventually accepted his hand. Once she was on her feet, she glared at him again and said, "Pervert."

Mu Chen froze for a moment before dodging as the girl swung her sword at him once more.

"Enough!" Mu Chen frowned, stepping forward and striking her chest with his palm. The blow forced the girl to stumble several steps back.

"You..." She was shocked by his strength, realizing the young man before her was far stronger than she had anticipated. Glancing down at where she had been hit, she realized it was her chest, which only enraged her further. "Scoundrel!" she bellowed.

Mu Chen spread his Chaos Wings wide. Instead of engaging further, he soared into the air, leaving the flustered girl behind.

"Flight Dou Technique?" the girl muttered, recognizing the skill. Her grandfather had once described this rare technique that allowed practitioners to fly like Dou Kings.

"I'll say it again: everything that happened earlier was a misunderstanding," Mu Chen said from above. "I sweated a lot during my training and saw the pool as an opportunity to bathe. While underwater, I thought I caught a fish but accidentally grabbed your foot instead. If you keep pestering me, don't blame me for being impolite."

"Is that really the truth?" she asked skeptically.

"Yes, that's the truth." Mu Chen retracted his wings and descended slowly.

"You think I'll believe that nonsense?" she snapped, charging at him again with her sword.

Mu Chen sidestepped her attack effortlessly and struck her hand, causing her sword to fly out of her grip.

The girl, undeterred, threw her fists at him instead.

"Still coming at me?" Mu Chen frowned, raising his palm. A small whirlwind formed in his hand.

Low-Level Profound Rank Dou Technique: Flame Palm

The whirlwind sent the girl flying backward into the pool, creating a splash.

"Finally, some peace and quiet," Mu Chen muttered, watching as she struggled in the water. With that, he turned and headed back to the Xiao Clan.

---

By the time Mu Chen arrived at the Xiao Clan, nearly all its members had gathered at a plaza. On a small platform stood the Xiao Clan's three elders and its leader, Xiao Zhan. Seated nearby were several unfamiliar faces, likely prominent figures from Wu Tan City.

In front of the platform stood a black stone monument. A young boy had placed his hand on it.

"Dou Qi, Level One! High Rank!" announced a middle-aged man standing beside the monument, his tone indifferent.

"Xun'er!" Mu Chen scanned the crowd and spotted Gu Xun'er sitting quietly beneath a large tree, watching the proceedings.

"Brother Mu Chen." Gu Xun'er's face lit up with a smile upon seeing him.

"Level One?"

"To reach Level One Dou Qi at just four years old, and at a high rank no less, is impressive."

"As expected of the clan leader's son. If he continues at this pace, he might form his Dou Qi Cyclone before adulthood."

The spectators murmured in admiration, their envious eyes fixed on the boy.

"Congratulations, Clan Leader Xiao, on having such a talented son."

"It's all thanks to that rascal's hard work," Xiao Zhan replied modestly, though his pride was evident.

Standing on the platform, Xiao Yan basked in the praise, a smug grin plastered across his face.

"Next, Xiao Mei!"

A young girl, no older than four or five, ran up to the platform. Despite her tender age, her delicate features already hinted at a natural charm that captivated the audience. Her combination of purity, cuteness, and allure made her the center of attention.

She placed her hand on the black stone monument and closed her eyes. Moments later, the monument lit up.

"Dou Qi, Level One!"

"Xiao Mei, Dou Qi, Level One. Rank: Low," announced the tester.

"Yay!" Xiao Mei cheered, her face beaming with pride. The crowd smiled warmly at her enthusiasm.

"Not bad. Ten months of training, and she's already achieved Dou Qi. She's ahead of many her age."

"I suggest we include Xiao Mei in the family's list of promising talents."

"Agreed. At this rate, she might reach Level Eight Dou Qi before adulthood."

The girl's smile grew even brighter as she skipped off the platform, her confidence soaring.

"Next, Xiao Xun'er!"

"Brother Mu Chen, it's my turn."

Gu Xun'er stood and smiled at Mu Chen. For the sake of blending into the Xiao Clan and enjoying a carefree childhood, she had temporarily adopted the name Xiao Xun'er, claiming to be a branch family member.

"Go ahead," Mu Chen nodded.

Dressed in a violet dress, Gu Xun'er's beauty and poise eclipsed even Xiao Mei's. Despite her young age, she exuded an ethereal grace, like a budding lotus. It was clear she would grow into a breathtakingly beautiful woman.

Gracefully, she walked to the black stone monument. Stretching out her delicate hand, she pressed it gently against the surface.

"Dou Qi, Level Three!"

The result left the crowd in stunned silence. Even the middle-aged tester momentarily forgot to announce the result.

"Level Three Dou Qi at only four years old?"

"She's terrifyingly talented. Without a doubt, she's the most promising among the younger generation."

When the tester finally s

napped out of his daze, he announced, "Xiao Xun'er, Dou Qi, Level Three. Rank: High."

"Next, Mu Chen!"
