Chapter 263: 3-Star Dou Practitioner

"Me?"

Mu Chen was momentarily stunned.

"Next, Mu Chen," the middle-aged man repeated, his voice cutting through the silence.

After a moment of hesitation, Mu Chen stepped forward and walked onto the platform. Looking at Xiao Zhan and the others seated in front of him, he said, "Clan Leader Xiao, I don't carry the Xiao surname."

"Mu Chen, don't misunderstand," the Xiao Clan's First Elder replied with a smile. "We mean no offense. Since you're residing with the Xiao Clan, we consider you one of us. However, if you don't wish to participate in the test, you are free to decline."

"That's all?" Mu Chen asked skeptically.

"Yes," the First Elder nodded firmly.

"Alright then," Mu Chen smiled lightly. "Since you insist, I'll give it a try."

He approached the black stone monument, placed his hand on it, and infused it with a trace of his Dou Qi.

"3-Star Dou Practitioner!"

The four bold, golden characters lit up on the monument.

"3-Star Dou Practitioner?"

The crowd fell into a stunned silence, much like when Gu Xun'er had completed her test. All eyes were fixed on Mu Chen.

"Who is this young man? A 3-Star Dou Practitioner?"

"His name is Mu Chen! He looks no older than twenty, yet his cultivation has already reached 3-Star Dou Practitioner. His potential is boundless."

"Indeed. In Wu Tan City—and even the entire Jia Ma Empire—the best record at his age was 1-Star Dou Practitioner. That person is now the next sect leader of the Yun Lan Sect."

Among the spectators were not only Xiao Clan members but also prominent figures from Wu Tan City. After recovering from their initial shock, they began whispering to each other, hoping to uncover Mu Chen's relationship with the Xiao Clan. Their intentions were clear: they wanted to recruit him. After all, they hadn't come all this way just to watch others test their Dou Qi levels.

"Brother Mu Chen, I didn't expect you to be a 3-Star Dou Practitioner," Gu Xun'er said as she approached him with a smile.

"You, little one, if you were more diligent in your cultivation, you'd surpass Dou Qi Level Three by now," Mu Chen teased.

Mu Chen was well aware that Gu Xun'er carried the bloodline of a Dou Di, and her talent was at the divine grade. If she trained seriously, her cultivation would undoubtedly be far higher.

---

The testing continued, with the middle-aged tester calling out, "Xiao Yu!"

"I'm here."

A crisp voice rang out from the crowd's edge. All eyes turned to see a girl walking toward the platform.

She appeared to be around eight or nine years old. Her looks were not striking, but she had a charm that grew on others. Her long, slender legs, as white as snow, were particularly eye-catching.

"Xiao Yu? So that's her?" Mu Chen frowned slightly.

"Brother Mu Chen, do you know her?" Gu Xun'er asked curiously.

"We've crossed paths," Mu Chen replied with a wry smile. He had been curious about the owner of those long, slender legs, only to find out it was Xiao Yu.

As Xiao Yu walked past Mu Chen, she shot him a fierce glare.

"Brother Mu Chen, it seems she has a grudge against you," Gu Xun'er said, her perceptive eyes catching the tension.

"Isn't it just because I mistook her leg for a fish when I was bathing in the pool?" Mu Chen chuckled lightly.

"Ah?" Gu Xun'er was taken aback before advising, "You'd better be careful."

"Why?" Mu Chen asked.

"Xiao Yu is the granddaughter of the First Elder. Her parents passed away when she was young, so she's been fiercely protective of her younger brother, even adopting a tough, tomboyish demeanor. If anyone disrespects her, she won't hesitate to draw her sword and fight. Given what happened with you, she might just kill you," Gu Xun'er explained.

"She already tried," Mu Chen replied casually.

"Are you hurt?" Gu Xun'er asked with concern.

"No. With her amateur skills, she couldn't do much to me," Mu Chen said smugly.

"Should I talk to the First Elder for you?" Gu Xun'er offered kindly.

"No need. She was just angry in the moment. She'll calm down eventually. Besides, I'm not afraid of her," Mu Chen reassured her.

---

"Xiao Yu, Dou Qi Level Five. Rank: High!"

The tester's announcement echoed across the plaza, drawing a fresh wave of admiration from the Xiao Clan disciples.

"Level Five Dou Qi at nine years old? That's above average for her age," someone remarked.

The cultivation of Dou Qi, from Level One to Ten, was a necessary stage for all practitioners. Upon reaching Level Ten, one could form a Dou Qi Cyclone within their body and officially become a respected Dou Practitioner.

This stage required significant time and perseverance, often taking anywhere from ten to several decades. Once the cyclone was formed, cultivation would progress much faster.

Xiao Yu's achievement at her age was commendable, making her one of the more promising talents in the Xiao Clan.

With Xiao Yu's test completed, the Xiao Clan's annual testing concluded.

---

"Master!"

A graceful figure approached, addressing Mu Chen respectfully.

It was a woman whose soft smile carried a hint of seduction. She wore a vibrant red, tight-fitting robe, the intricate embroidery highlighting her elegance. The outfit perfectly accentuated her curves, while her long, snowy legs gleamed temptingly under the sunlight. Despite her allure, her bright, pure eyes still held traces of innocence.

After a month under Mu Chen's guidance, Ya Fei had undergone a noticeable transformation.

"Master?" Gu Xun'er murmured in surprise. It was hard to imagine someone as young as Mu Chen having a disciple.

"Xun'er, let me introduce you. This is my disciple, Ya Fei of the Mittel Clan," Mu Chen said with a smile.

"Hello, Miss Xun'er," Ya Fei greeted, extending her hand.

"Hello," Gu Xun'er replied after a moment of hesitation, finally shaking Ya Fei's hand out of respect for Mu Chen.

"Master, you told me to come to the Xiao Clan after a month, so here I am," Ya Fei said with a smile.

"This isn't the best place to talk. Let's walk and talk," Mu Chen said, turning to

leave the plaza.

Unbeknownst to them, a tall, long-legged figure quietly followed in their footsteps.
