As they walked, Medusa seemed deep in thought. "Ever since I came back from the hospital, strange things have been happening in my body. I don't know what's going on."
Jehovah looked at her thoughtfully. "It sounds like a miracle, Medusa. You may have superpowers."
Amon nodded. "I felt an intense heat during that fight with those three kids from our class."
Medusa added, smiling, "Your punches were really strong, Amon."
Amon hesitated, then shared, "I had a strange dream too. A woman told me to save you, Medusa."
Jehovah's eyes narrowed. "Which doctor treated you two?"
Amon and Medusa exchanged a glance and answered in unison, "Dr. Sin."
Jehovah frowned. "Dr. Sin?"
Medusa clarified, "He's actually Dr. Srinivasan, but we call him Dr. Sin for safety. He's a well-known doctor."
Jehovah's expression darkened. "Yes, I know him. He's the one who hit me with his car and caused me to lose my right hand."
Amon's eyes widened. "So... are we all connected somehow? Or is that doctor planning something with us?"
Their conversation was interrupted as they noticed a man sprinting, a group of police officers chasing after him, yelling, "Stop! Hand over that bangle!"
Amon spotted his father among the officers, running to keep up. Before they could react, Jehovah turned back to them. "Let's meet here every evening. We need to get to the bottom of this."
Amon nodded. "Yeah, but it's getting late. We should head home."
"Alright," Jehovah said. "I'll see you two tomorrow. Bye."
"Bye!" they called back, parting ways.
As Amon and Medusa walked hand in hand, Medusa sighed. "Tomorrow's school, isn't it?"
"Yeah," Amon replied, giving her hand a gentle squeeze. "I'll see you there. Good night, Medusa."
Medusa smiled softly, "Good night." She hugged him, and they shared a warm moment before parting ways.
When Amon arrived home, he called out, "I'm back, Mom!"
Mio greeted him, "Come, dear. Dinner's ready."
As he ate, Amon glanced around. "Where's Dad?"
Mio replied, "He mentioned he had some work to finish."
Amon nodded. "Alright. I've got school tomorrow, so I'll head to bed. Good night, Mom."
"Good night, dear," Mio said, watching him with a smile as he headed off to sleep, thoughts of the day's strange events swirling in his mind.
Amon and Medusa walked together towards the school, their conversation about the mysterious events from the day before still fresh in their minds. As they entered the school grounds, they overheard a group of students talking excitedly.
"Do you know the guy who saved that girl from the fire accident?" one student asked.
"Yeah, I was there!" another replied. "He was so fast, like he appeared out of nowhere and just grabbed her before the fire spread."
Amon's curiosity piqued, and he turned to Medusa. "Did he wear a bangle on his right hand?"
The student nodded eagerly. "Yes, that's right! I saw it too."
Medusa glanced at Amon. "Then he's the one who was chased by the police yesterday."
Amon nodded, his suspicions confirmed. "Yeah, it looks like we're getting closer to understanding what's going on."
Before they could continue their conversation, the school bell rang, signaling the start of classes. The students quickly filed into the building, and Amon and Medusa followed suit, heading towards their respective classrooms. Despite the normalcy of school life, their minds were elsewhere, focused on the mystery surrounding Dr. Sin and the strange events they had experienced.
The man sat in his quiet room, removing his mask with a sigh. "This hero work is harder than I thought," he muttered to himself. He glanced at the wristlet on his wrist, still trying to understand its mysterious powers. "Maybe I need a hero name," he thought aloud, adjusting the wristlet as he pondered what it could do.
After a few moments of contemplation, he stood up, straightened his coat, and grabbed his bag. He stuffed his laptop into it, zipped it up, and headed out the door. His mind was focused, but there was a feeling of uncertainty about the new path he was treading. Being a hero was not something he had planned, but now it seemed like the only option.
Arriving at his IT company, he swiped his ID card at the entrance and stepped into the building. He walked down the corridor to his teammate's cabin. The door opened, and his colleagues greeted him with a cheerful "Hello, Yohan!"
"Hello, guys," Yohan replied with a half-smile, trying to push the weight of his secret life aside for the moment. He settled into his chair and began working alongside his teammates, pretending everything was normal. But deep down, he knew that the role of a hero wasn't just something he could escape.
He glanced at the wristlet again, wondering what it was truly capable of, and if he would ever understand its full potential. But for now, the mundane tasks of his job were enough to distract him from the chaos brewing outside.
Yohan smiled as the cleaner handed him the free band, a small token of appreciation for the restaurant's one-year anniversary. "Thanks, ma'am," he said, his eyes glancing at the band as it glimmered in the light.
His friends also received their bands, and the group sat down to enjoy their meals. The atmosphere was lighthearted, filled with laughter and conversation, but Yohan's mind was elsewhere. He couldn't help but think about the strange wristlet on his arm—the mysterious item that had somehow transformed his life.
When he finished his meal and made his way to the bill counter, he held out the band to the employee, who recognized it immediately. "Oh, that band! You can have free meals with it, man!" the employee said with a smile.
Yohan nodded gratefully and walked away, but as he felt the weight of the band in his hand, a thought struck him. "Bandman," he muttered to himself under his breath. The name seemed to fit perfectly, the band now symbolizing not only his free meals but also his connection to his newfound hero identity.
A smile crept onto his face as he thought, "Bandman... that's a perfect hero name for me." It had a ring to it, and the idea felt right. He might not fully understand his powers yet, but the name was a step toward embracing his new path.
