Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh, whoosh—
Thousands of highly compressed current beams streaked through the sky, drawing bright golden trails. Their sheer density formed a curtain of light connecting the sky to the mountain below.
Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom—
But this curtain of light was far from harmless. As it struck the mountain's surface, it exploded into round "golden bowls," each one radiating intense heat and electricity.
Before one golden bowl could fully expand, the next golden beam followed closely behind, piercing through and detonating another golden bowl within it!
This happened repeatedly, moment after moment. Continuous explosions and fire engulfed the entire area.
In addition to the blinding golden light and dust filling the air, a thick burning smell spread out. It was the scent of scorched air!
At some point, the "sun" that had lit up the night sky vanished, and the golden beams disappeared. Darkness returned to the forest in an instant, as if it had gone from day to night, creating an uncomfortable tension.
But everyone knew, night was the true backdrop now.
Kaminari, cloaked in a golden aura, stood under the bright moonlight, gazing down at the mountaintop now drowned in thick smoke. His expression was cold, indifferent to whether the enemy had survived or not.
To be honest, if he hadn't considered the upcoming wave of Yasakani no Magatama in battle, he could have kept going for twenty minutes!
The energy within his body had surpassed ten million units. He no longer had to worry about energy consumption like before.
Right now, Kaminari hesitated. He wasn't sure whether to leave or head down to check on the enemy's condition. In the end, he slowly descended from the sky.
Like a cold god, he landed on the scorched land that had just endured divine punishment.
The so-called mountaintop had already vanished. The repeated explosions had turned the ground red and molten. Even the evening breeze couldn't blow away the rising heat, evidence of the devastation left behind.
Cratered terrain, shattered rocks, and the charred figure lying in the pit, covered in burns—all entered Kaminari's sight as the dust began to settle.
To concentrate the explosions, he had deliberately narrowed the range of Yasakani no Magatama. In truth, it could have destroyed the entire surrounding forest.
At this moment, Kaminari fully understood the extent of his current strength. It was no exaggeration to say he had reached city-level destruction.
"Did you die?"
Glancing at "Muscular" collapsed in the pit, seemingly unconscious, the outcome was just as expected.
Even if Muscular had some resistance to electricity, even if his powerful muscle tissue could endure the impact of explosions...
What about the hellish high temperatures? What about the suffocating heat that followed? What about the neurological damage caused by countless electric shocks?
Even electrical resistance had limits. Kaminari, as an electricity user himself, knew that. So long as the voltage was high enough, no one could survive a direct current assault!
Kaminari curled his lip, then turned and flew back into the night sky. Next, he planned to go find Kyoka and the others. For some reason, a sense of unease tugged at his heart.
But he didn't see it—about three seconds after he left, a mass of purple-black energy appeared out of nowhere. It was the black mist of the League of Villains.
"Tsk, tsk, tsk... What a mess. Even an S-class wanted criminal can't stand up to Kaminari Denki," Kurogiri said calmly, gazing at the scorched figure of Muscular.
"But that's still a powerful asset. It would be a shame if the police got their hands on him. Unfortunately, his personality is too violent. We don't need people who won't follow Shigaraki-kun's orders."
In the next moment, he released a large volume of purple-black mist that quickly enveloped Muscular and teleported him away.
"But your Quirk is useful. I believe the boss will know how to make the most of it..."
Patience... must finish the task... task... task...
Elsewhere in the forest, a fierce battle was underway. But it was completely one-sided. Kirishima and Bakugo were both struggling against the relentless barrage of blades stabbing at them.
"Damn it!!"
"You look like a complete freak, but you're still this hard to deal with!"
Bakugo was furious. Every time he tried to charge forward and blow the opponent away, multiple long, sharp blades shot toward him, forcing him to dodge or retreat.
Clack—
"Man, I'll stand in front of you!" Kirishima, fully hardened, struggled to resist the blades while grinning back at Bakugo.
"Shut up, Redhead!!"
"I don't need your protection!"
Bakugo shouted back angrily. He refused to accept it. If Kirishima hadn't been standing there, he would've been injured by now.
And it was exactly because he knew that... that it made him even more irritated and furious. When did he start becoming like this?
"You're right! I want to be the one blocking those blades!" Kirishima didn't mind Bakugo's harsh tone. Instead, he answered with the exact mood Bakugo was feeling.
"But we need to think of something quick. If this keeps up, my Hardening won't last much longer."
On the other side, the death row inmate known as "Moonfish" had recently been freed from prison by Kurogiri. The frequency and intensity of his attacks had grown steadily stronger.
He used the countless blades extending from his teeth to move, leap, attack, and weave through the trees with eerie agility.
His entire motion was fluid and precise. It was clear this villain had incredible control over his Quirk.
"Must... complete... the mission..."
Moonfish hung upside down in mid-air, drooling profusely. Thick saliva ran down the length of his blades. The sight was disgusting.
"No... otherwise... I'll be sent back to prison..."
Tomura Shigaraki's order was simple: kill at least one hero. If he failed, Kurogiri would send him back.
For Moonfish, being imprisoned wasn't the terrifying part. The real torment was being unable to enjoy the thrill of cutting human flesh. The League of Villains had given him that hope—so he had to complete the task.
Boom!!!
Suddenly, a loud noise erupted in the distance. Bakugo and Kirishima turned to see Momo Yaoyorozu and Mezo Shoji running toward them.
"Found them!!"
"They're in the middle of battle! Quickly, lure Tokoyami over!" Momo shouted urgently.
Shoji also called out, "Bakugo, we need you! Make some explosions!"
From his vantage point in the air, Moonfish spotted the massive figure chasing behind Momo and Shoji even before the others did.
"That... that's... what... what is that?!"
