Chapter 386: Wayward Bakugo!

"Bakugo, make some fire!" Upon seeing the enormous figure and glowing red eyes of the Black Shadow, Kirishima's expression changed drastically.

"No." Bakugo refused with a glance, then looked toward Moonfish in the distance and sneered viciously.

"Fire and all that, I've got it ready anytime. But before that, let Tokoyami kill that guy first!"

At this moment, his expression was terrifying. He looked more like a villain than the villains themselves.

"Great. Looks like Bakugo and the others figured it out too!" On the other side, Momo smiled with relief when she saw that Bakugo didn't immediately use his explosions.

Shoji, who was beside her, had just said that he was completely stunned when Bakugo set off that explosion earlier. Only then did Momo realize she hadn't explained her plan to him at all.

In fact, it wasn't long ago that she'd met up with Shoji and Tokoyami. Tokoyami had already lost control at the time, but still helped her deal with the Nomu chasing her.

As for how they handled it? They simply flattened the Nomu. It turned out her attacks weren't ineffective because they couldn't hurt it, just that the damage wasn't enough.

All the so-called strength enhancements and rapid recovery are meaningless in the face of overwhelming force.

This was the true power of Tokoyami, an incredibly extreme and terrifying ability. As long as he wasn't exposed to excessive light, he was practically invincible at night!

"Huh? Why?" Shoji asked Momo in confusion as they ran.

He was incredibly anxious. Out of everyone in the class, he was closest to Tokoyami. Now that Tokoyami was roaring in pain and crying, he desperately wanted to use fire to help free his friend!

"Because… huh?!"

Just as Momo was about to explain, something suddenly occurred in the night sky. A burst of blinding golden light erupted in the distance, sweeping away the darkness with overwhelming force.

Night was instantly turned to day…

"What is that?"

At that moment, Bakugo, Kirishima, Momo, Shoji, and even Moonfish all froze and looked up at the "sun" shining beneath the moon.

"Roar!"

"No!!!"

A beast-like, pained cry drew their attention. They saw the once-terrifying Black Shadow shrinking at a speed visible to the naked eye under the dazzling golden light.

Before long, Tokoyami, tears streaming down his face, was crouched on the ground gasping for breath, staring blankly at his trembling hands.

Only God knew how much pain and guilt he felt for losing control and attacking Shoji. He had wanted to kill himself right there to make it stop.

"Kaminari Denki… thank you…"

Tokoyami looked up at the golden light in the sky that seemed like it descended from the heavens and murmured to himself. In that moment, he felt like he finally understood what it meant for the brightest light to cast the darkest shadow.

"No way, that was Kaminari?!" Kirishima was stunned when he heard Tokoyami's whisper.

"Damn it…" Bakugo's expression darkened after seeing the scene. He was completely confused. Really confused.

He didn't know what to do. What could he possibly do to catch up to Kaminari?

Honestly, he hated this feeling. It was the first time he'd ever experienced it. From childhood, whether in studies or combat, he was always among the best.

He always believed that he wouldn't lose to anyone his age. Even if someone was older by a year or two, he was confident he could beat them.

But now, Kaminari's presence felt completely out of reach. It was infuriating.

"Bakugo, watch out!!"

Just as Bakugo was lost in his thoughts, Kirishima's shout rang in his ears. He frowned instinctively, and in the next second, he was knocked aside.

Bang!

"How dare you charge at me? Are you looking to die…"

Bakugo hit the ground and was just about to explode in anger when he noticed Kirishima being attacked by a barrage of blades. He swallowed his words immediately.

The metallic clashing of blades echoed through the forest again.

"Ah, sorry, sorry. I thought you'd dodge it, but who would've thought you'd be spacing out…" Kirishima shielded his head with his arms as the blades struck him. He smiled, but the occasional furrow of his brow and the look in his eyes showed he was starting to feel the pain.

Every Quirk has a limit—and his Hardening was no exception.

Bang!

At that moment, a gunshot rang out. Momo had joined the battle. Since Tokoyami was no longer usable against the villain, she had to rely on herself.

Golden lightning bullets fired from the twin guns in her hands, leaving glowing trails through the air. However, despite the rapid fire, none hit the swift-moving Moonfish!

The long blades under his control were extremely elastic, allowing him to dodge with bizarre movements. He also used tree trunks to block incoming shots.

This showed exactly why, among all the death row inmates, the League of Villains chose Moonfish. Disgusting as he was, he was undeniably strong.

Not just disgusting—he had power.

In the original timeline, it took both Shoto Todoroki and Bakugo working together just to resist this guy.

If he hadn't been unlucky enough to get killed by the rampaging Black Shadow, he likely would've become a core member of the League of Villains.

"Damn it, forget it! I'm taking this guy down!!"

Boom!

Bakugo couldn't hold back anymore. He activated his Quirk with both hands, blasting into the night sky and preparing for an aerial strike!

Even if there was a risk of getting hit by the blades or starting a massive forest fire, it was better than standing behind Kirishima doing nothing!

"Die, you bastard!!"

Bakugo let his rage explode through his palms as he unleashed fiery blasts toward Moonfish's location.

Think you're fast? Think you're agile? Fine, I'll just blast a wide area and see how you dodge that!

That's exactly what Bakugo was thinking. And it did cause trouble for Moonfish. Despite his skill, he wasn't nearly as durable as Explosive Muscle.

But he had his own defense.

More and more blades poured from his mouth, then twisted, overlapped, and coiled around him under invisible control.

Soon, an iron sphere made entirely of densely packed blades formed. Though the outer blades shattered in the explosions, constant replenishment kept the iron ball intact!

"Stop… stop!"

"Stop it!!!"

Momo, seeing the trees around them igniting from the blasts and the growing flames, shouted urgently at Bakugo in the sky.

At the same time, she used her Quirk to create several large-capacity fire extinguishers. Kirishima and Shoji quickly began trying to put the fires out.

If things continued like this, even if they defeated the villain, they'd probably be burned alive themselves!

Forest fires are no less catastrophic than avalanches or earthquakes. And they were still right in the middle of one.

Unfortunately, despite the shouting, Momo's voice didn't reach Bakugo. More importantly, Bakugo wasn't even fighting at this point—he was venting.

He had always been hot-tempered on the outside but rational on the inside. Now, for once, he had completely lost control.

Suddenly, a golden flash appeared above Bakugo's head.

"Calm down, Bakugo."
