Chapter 389: Golden Thunder vs. Blue Fire!

"Who are you?"

Kaminari glanced past Tetsutetsu, his eyes growing cold.

"Well..."

Hearing that Kaminari Denki didn't recognize him at all, he wasn't surprised, but still felt a little frustrated. As if he were just a nameless nobody.

"I'm—"

"Just another weak villain. Kaminari, I saw Kyoka flying in that direction earlier. See if you can fly over and find her!" Tetsutetsu cut him off before he could finish, pointing toward a spot in the night sky.

Kaminari followed the direction of his finger. He had already scanned that area once with his radar, but even so, he closed his eyes again without hesitation.

Crack!

Golden lightning flared around him once more as his high-voltage electrification mode activated. Electromagnetic waves powered by his mental focus surged out in that direction.

Unlike his previous omnidirectional sweep, this time Kaminari concentrated most of the ripples in a single direction under deliberate control.

Although this reduced the overall range, it significantly extended the detection distance. Soon, he sensed several energy signatures clustered roughly 500 meters away.

"Kyoka!!"

Crackle—

Without another word, Kaminari's body erupted with energy and shot forward like a bolt of golden lightning. The intense high-temperature current scorched the ground beneath him, leaving behind fractured earth and waves of heat.

"He found her? That's great!"

Tetsutetsu looked up at Kaminari's glowing figure with excitement. He didn't know how Kaminari had located her, but if he could bring Kyoka back safely, it would ease the guilt weighing on his heart.

"It's too late… it's already too late. Hehehehe..."

"You can still laugh? Sounds like I didn't beat you hard enough," Tetsutetsu said flatly, turning toward the villain.

"Then let's continue."

Bang!!

"Ahhhhh!!"

"The signal has been sent. If no one shows up in five minutes, we'll leave."

In a clearing deep in the forest, a new presence appeared—a lifeform composed entirely of purple-black mist.

"Is this one dead?" Dabi asked, hands in his pockets, glancing at the girl in black armor brought in by Kurogiri.

"No. Because her Quirk is valuable, I was instructed to bring her in alive."

"Compress her. She's an important target. Shigaraki will be very pleased." Kurogiri tossed the unconscious girl to Compress.

"Got it."

Boom.

Compress gently tapped the girl, instantly turning her into a small blue marble, then slid it into his coat pocket.

"Bait, huh?" Dabi muttered. "But... do we even have the strength to handle what we've hooked?"

"Hey, hey, you're too cautious!"

"Such bold thoughts."

Nearby, a bored Himiko Toga kicked at the dirt and asked lazily, "The other three haven't shown up yet. Can we leave? I hate this burnt smell."

"Ten seconds left. If they're not here, we go. This mission includes an evaluation, after all," Kurogiri replied.

"Five seconds."

The group fell silent. The clearing grew eerily quiet, making the crackle of burning trees in the distance all the more jarring.

"Hey————we're here!"

"Yeah, wait for us!"

Suddenly, Spinner and Magne, who had been in charge of subduing Tiger and Mandalay, emerged from the woods.

"Now that everyone's here, let's go," Kurogiri nodded, preparing to activate his Quirk to teleport the group.

Just then, a golden flash dropped from the sky like a divine strike.

Crackle—

"Ahhhhh!"

Kaminari, wrapped in golden lightning and flames, grabbed the backs of Spinner and Magne's heads in an instant. With a violent surge of electricity, he slammed them both into the dirt.

"You're not going anywhere."

Kaminari, kneeling on one knee, raised his head and coldly swept his gaze over the League of Villains members.

The air froze.

Whoosh!!

The first to react was the usually frantic TWICE. Leaping into the air, he pulled out ten sharp metal rulers from the gear on his wrists.

"I remember clearly. Mr. Shigaraki said if we get the chance, we should kill you on sight!"

"Hi there, Kaminari-kun! I'm Himiko Toga!" Toga, who had been staring off at the night sky, suddenly charged in.

She looked ecstatic, a deranged smile stretching across her face as a dagger glinted in her hand.

"I just wanted to say… with a few scars and a little blood, you'd look even more handsome!"

"Let me stab you, Kaminari-kun!!"

Facing their surprise assault, Kaminari remained motionless. His eyes kept scanning the area, still searching for Kyoka.

But just because he didn't move didn't mean the electricity in his body was idle.

Crack!!

To the shock of Dabi, Kurogiri, and the others, countless golden currents erupted from Kaminari's body and converged above him into a vividly detailed golden thunder dragon.

Roar!!

The dragon, seemingly sentient, let out a piercing roar as it surged toward TWICE and Himiko Toga.

"Watch out!" Compress yelled, trying to stop the two before they got too close.

Toga and TWICE also sensed something was wrong, but the golden dragon's speed defied all expectations.

The distance between them had been too short. Add to that the sheer speed of the current, and the two of them never even saw the dragon coming.

Boom!!!

All they saw was a flash of golden light, then unbearable pain exploded through their bodies—a paralyzing, burning shock that left them writhing.

"Ahhhhhhh!!"

Bang! Bang!

In the next instant, Himiko Toga and TWICE were both sent flying, smoke trailing from their scorched bodies as they crashed to the ground. The golden thunder dragon, undeterred, surged forward to strike Kurogiri, Compress, and the others.

Boom—

Suddenly, the temperature in the area spiked, and a massive wave of strange blue flames collided with the thunder dragon.

The forest clearing was instantly transformed into a battlefield where golden lightning clashed violently with blue fire.

"Kurogiri, Compress—get them out of here. I'll hold him back. But... I can't promise I'll succeed."

Dabi stepped forward, a ball of blue fire swirling in his right palm. His expression remained cold as he stared at the standoff between lightning and flame.

"Because this fish… might be too big to catch."
