“You’re getting better and better,” Lykos said, emerging from among the trees. Chosen by Hye to look after Jae Soh and Hae Ri during the forest hunts because he knew the area best—even if he’d only traveled it a short time—and also because he was the easiest to communicate with.
“Before, you struggled to handle more than two at once; now, even eight of them seem no problem.”
“All thanks to Hae Ri,” Jae Soh said, smiling.
The girl, however, turned away, uncomfortable—an unsettling sense of worry clung to her no matter how hard she tried to ignore it.
“Yeah, I see…” Lykos said, turning his back after staring at them for a moment. Even though he couldn’t actually see their systems, he could feel their difference in strength by pure instinct. “Well, let’s head back—it’s lunch time. Later this afternoon, we’ll round up a few more monsters for you to train on.”
Hae Ri held out her hand and activated her inventory. Once again, everything was left to her.
