Competition Stress

The studio buzzed with a renewed sense of urgency as The Clockworks dove into their practice sessions. After a day lost to Carter's recovery and Albert’s missteps, the band couldn't afford any more delays with the competition looming so near. Kokomi, determined as ever, led the charge, ensuring everyone stayed focused and productive.

They began by meticulously working through the local Malaysian song, a hauntingly beautiful piece that Carter was to sing. Each run-through was recorded so they could analyse and address even the smallest mistakes. It wasn’t long before challenges arose—Carter struggled with his pitch during the chorus, missing the mark three times in a row. The room’s atmosphere grew tense.

“What's going on, Carter? Have you even been practicing?” Beyond’s voice cut through the room, sharp and frustrated.
