Piper’s POV
Ding Dong.
The doorbell wakes me up from my beauty sleep.
It's barely past 4 PM and having no real job asides hiding from Orion, being a nasty neighbor to Nelson, and laying my ass about.
“Uh…”
I groan, sprawling my limbs apart. Whoever that is, must be a hater.
Again, it rings.
“Hold on!”
My voice manages to sound audible as I literally scream at the top of my lungs.
Struggling to climb down from bed, I sluggishly draw my feet to the door.
Oddly, the place is empty.
There's no one by the door, and somehow, this gives me chills.
I'm not so free a person to not feel anxious, and even if I were, this isn't a pleasant visit.
As if I suspect Nelson, I look over to his house and he’s not in front of it, nor in his balcony, so I toss him out of the box.
“Who's that?”
My shaky voice calls out.
