Chapter - 133

"We've arrived at the palace, sir," the carriage driver announced as he opened the door for Jacob.

Jacob stepped out, straightening his shirt and brushing off imaginary dust from the journey. The grand façade of the palace loomed before him, its spires glinting in the sunlight. Near the main door, two maids were waiting to escort him.

They led him through vast corridors adorned with tapestries and gold-trimmed decor, the faint echo of their footsteps filling the silence. As they approached the entrance to Princess Vela's private annex, the heavy wooden doors opened just as they arrived.

"Jacob, you're finally here," came a familiar voice, warm and tinged with relief.

Vela's expression softened the moment she saw him. She rose from her seat, her elegant blue gown flowing around her, and dismissed the maids with a flick of her wrist. Once they were alone, her posture relaxed, and her smile turned genuine.
