His gaze soon found her—sitting before the dressing table, brushing through her golden locks with slow, practiced strokes. A soft hum escaped her lips, a melody that was both familiar and soothing, the sound weaving effortlessly into the quiet of the morning.

A smile curved Jacob's lips as he watched her, taking in the way the silk robe draped over her form, teasing at the curves he had worshipped the night before. His eyes flickered to the edge of the bed, where another robe lay neatly folded. He reached for it, slipping it over his broad shoulders before tying the sash securely around his waist.
