In-laws

After impounding my flesh with tons of makeup and putting on the gown that had been carefully chosen from Selena's closet, I walked towards my mirror to see how I looked.

I had gone a bit extra on my makeup so I'd look a lot younger. I also drew in some cat eyes since that was the kind of thing my sister was basically into. I braided my hair backwards and held it with a butterfly pin. I also left some hair to fall freely on my face.

I did every single thing I knew my sister would do before going out; look, I'm even wearing heels instead of my normal down-to-earth flats, but I absolutely would love a daring red shade of lipstick to go with my outfit, but instead I'm putting on some lip gloss, just like Selena would.

There was no way I could shed weight in one night so I could look like her, so I just put on a waist trainer, and her shimmering golden gown just hugged all the right curves. I wouldn't normally put in much effort to impress someone, but I'm trying to look similar to my sister, so Mr. Sukuna wouldn't notice any big differences.

Talking about Mr. Sukuna, I would like to see the man who made all of this happen—the man who made my somewhat prideful father wobble to his knees at the sight of his magnificent glory. I think I'll just take a sneak peek because I heard some cars arriving a few minutes ago.

Holding my clutch in my arm, I walked gracefully out of my room so I could try and make a good impression on Selena. With shoulders straight, head held high, and a beautiful fake smile plastered on my face, let's get this meeting over with...

I approached the stairs, and I heard loud chuckles coming from downstairs. I don't get it; I thought we were only having Mr. Sukuna and his assistant over, so why are Aunt Lucy, Aunty Stacy, Uncle Fred, and every other little family friend I can remember all sprawled in my living room?

Just then, Mom appeared from nowhere and stopped me from coming downstairs; instead, she rushed me back into my room.

"You're supposed to wait for my signal." She huffed. This was the first time we had talked since last night. She looked stunning, I suppose, with her white overflowing dress and faint makeup, which made her silver eyes pop out a lot more.

"I didn't think there would be any signals. Besides, what are half of our relatives doing in the living room? I thought this was going to be a quiet meet and greet," I hissed.

That's the thing with these two: when you decide to help them, they can't help but go overboard and step past their boundaries.

"This is supposed to be an introduction, you know? Your family members should see the man you're getting married to."

"Who is Selena getting married to?" I hissed under my breath.

"Yes, right." She chuckled awkwardly.

And I just knew something was off.

"You told the family I was getting married, didn't you?" I frowned.

"No, no, no! I didn't say that; I only said you'd be stepping in for Selena while we look for her. They know the whole story, so no one can blow your cover.

"Do they really know the whole story? And do I really care if my cover gets blown or not? Well, why don't I just do that myself? Hey there, Mr. Sukuna, my name is Freya Park, and I'm in a serious relationship with my boyfriend Michel. You see, your son is supposed to get married to my sister, but she ran away, and she's being hunted down as we speak, so just imagine a younger version of me walking down the aisle with your son, okay?" I smiled sarcastically.

"You wouldn't dare." She frowned.

"Try me," I mocked as I cleaned my lip gloss and replaced it with some red lipstick.

Next, I would get rid of all this makeup and put on a normal dress and some flats so I could finally be comfortable.

"Okay, what do you want?"

"Don't make a big deal out of the situation; I didn't bring a rich man to you for approval; your husband did. He sold his daughter to him, and that's what this is, so stop making the atmosphere so joyful, like something good just happened; it's making me sick just hearing you brag about it."

I bet the dude is as ugly as they come. I mean, why does he need his father to find him a bride? And why the hell doesn't he show up for his supposed "introduction?" I bet he's as shocked as we all are.

"Alright then, if that's what you want." She smiled

"He's here," I said as I saw an exotic car pull up in front of our house. It really attracted unwanted attention from the neighbours.

"Quick, let's move to the garden so we can all greet them." Mum said

A few minutes later...

"Mr. Sukuna!" Papa said that as he tried to act cheerful, I, on the other hand, just kept shut as I was hidden in the mist of my family members. He's not supposed to see me just yet, so I moved to get a drink as soon as he arrived. I'm going to need some alcohol if I want to live past this day.

After downing two glasses, I whipped my head back so I could get a glimpse of what was going on. Who is this man behind all the drama?

He was so quiet. It led to this sudden uneasiness between him and my family; he was dressed in all black, an expensive suit, and cool shades, which he hasn't taken off, and his assistant didn't look shabby at all; in fact, he's gorgeous, with a slender body in an equally expensive suit and a cute smile; he also had freckles and curled black hair.

He looked like he belonged to the beach before he got this offer to work with Mr. Sukuna. I wonder what he's like without a shirt on.

Come on… Get it together!

After two gentle slaps to the face, I put on a smile and walked towards Selena's father-in-law.

"Good afternoon, kind sir. My name is Selena Park, and it is a pleasure to finally see you in person." The next thing I knew, I was putting out a hand for a handshake.

That was when he finally took off his dark shades, and I was dazzled by this man's beauty. If he didn't have little wrinkles here and there, I honestly wouldn't mind getting married to him. He also looks so buff in that suit. Oh, what a sight! He has alluring blue eyes and a fine smirk; all that's left is his voice now.

Yes, I said voice. I can't be the only one who can get attracted to someone because of their amazing, deep voice. Sometimes I feel like I should melt when I come across those kinds of people. She has good looks, a good body, and an awesome voice. What else could you bring to the table?

He grabbed my hand, and instead of shaking, he kissed it.

"Such a beauty," I heard him say, and I could feel the blush creeping up from my chest to my neck and finally to my cheeks. My hands were already trembling. Well, so far, so good. It seems I've managed to deceive this man into believing I'm Selena.

"Let the party commence," Mr. Sukuna finally said as he gestured for me to come with him.

"Let's have a little chat, shall we? I won't be staying here for long." He smiled as he dismissed his assistant.

"Sure thing, sir."

"Call me Papa; I'd like that." He smiled, and I blushed even more.

"Okay Papa"

Somewhere Abroad…

Little sighs are heard, coming from an office with giant black doors. The water in the tea pot was already at its boiling point, with the lid dancing to the efforts of the vapour to escape.

Isn't he going to turn that thing off? His friend thought as he approached the doors, "Well, so did we."

"Dude, what's gotten into you?" His friend said that as he marched to the tea pot and turned it off, that was the first thing on his mind because he also wanted some tea. He brought out two cups from the cupboard and started to make some.

"It's dad again, and this time it's serious. He's arranging a marriage for me as we speak." He sighed again.

"Well, it's not his fault; you drove him to this extent; you didn't have a girl in mind to marry, and you know your father, grandfather, and great-grandfather got married at the age of 23, and here you are, almost thirty, with no wife." His friend mocked

"It's not my fault; I only find them attractive enough to smash; they should do better at impressing me," he said as he got up to receive his tea.

"Why don't you talk to your father? I'm sure he's just kidding."

"He's not. If I don't go through with this, he says I would have brought the biggest shame to his name, and that's not all; he's going to cut my shares from the company, and I won't even inherit it."

"Dude…"

"I know, right? Everything I've done, I did just to prove to him how responsible and capable I am to take over the company. My company is striving as well, but he just won't look at me if I don't have a woman by my side."

Don don don!

"I've always begged you to change that ringtone of yours, but you just won't listen." His friend said as he chuckled, It always startled him.

"It's Fritz; he sent me pictures."

"Well, let's see em."

"Oh my God! I can't believe my eyes; she's the one."His friend gasped.

After a few minutes of going through all these pictures, his friend turned to look at him as a wicked smirk dangled from his face.

"You don't thin-"

"Oh, I know what I'm thinking; I'm thinking this just got a whole lot interesting."
