The room was filled with all kinds of items, ranging from never-before-seen weapons and accessories to mysterious documents and files.
"Whoa..." Xavier's eyes were glittering like a child receiving a new toy.
He first walked up to the accessories. There were tons of them, from pens, bracelets, and watches to glasses, headphones, shoes, and rings.
'What's that? Looks like a remote,' Xavier thought looking at a device with multiple buttons.
'Well, time to look at the weapons,' He thought and turned his head to the weapons section.
There were multiple types of weapons ranging from swords, shields, spears, maces, and blasters.
'Damn, that looks good.' Xavier thought looking at a dagger.
The dagger had a blue blade with a very sharp edge and a black cylindrical hilt.
'Wait a minute.' Xavier thought focusing more on the hilt of the dagger.
'What are those weird writings on the hilt? Is it a foreign language?' Xavier thought.
'Hmm. I want to take it but...' Xavier panned his gaze around the room. Everything was covered in glass cases, which prevented him from taking anything.
'I can try breaking the case but, it might somehow alert mom. So, that's not an option.' Xavier thought.
'But then, what other way is there for me to open it?'
'No, the real question is, why is all this stuff in our basement? Why do we have such a massive arsenal of advanced weapons and accessories with unknown functions and capabilities. Just what is mom trying to hide and why?' Xavier thought.
'Don't tell me... she's a smuggler? Nah, there's no way mom can be something like that. She's too nice and soft for that.' Xavier thought but immediately dismissed that notion.
'But what other reason could there be?' Xavier thought trying to figure out the reason.
"Huh?" Xavier made a confused sound as something caught his eye.
It was a door at the very back of the room.
"Another door? Just how deep does this place go?" Xavier said.
'I've a bad feeling about this but...' Xavier thought feeling hesitant.
'Oh well, let's just first go and see it.' Xavier thought as he walked towards the the door.
'Hmm... it's a metal door it seems. But what metal is the question. Let's see.' Xavier pressed the remote control for his glasses.
Flash
Two beams of blue light emitted from the glasses. Xavier then moved his head up and down making sure the beams of light covered the entire door.
After he was done, he turned off the lights and pressed a another buttons.
This time, words started to form on the glasses. Xavier read the sentence formed by the words and was surprised.
"What? 'No data'?" Xavier said.
"That would mean that, the information regarding this metal is hidden by the government of our world which are nobles."
"And the only reason those nincompoops would hide information is for their own benefits. That means the metal this door is made of has a special property. But the question is, what?"
"Whatever, that's not my headache." Xavier shook his head.
'But, how do I open this thing? There doesn't seem to be any biometrics system for this.' Xavier thought.
He was right. It was just a plain black metal door with a door knob.
'A door knob! That's it!' Xavier thought as realization struck in.
He put his hand in his pocket and took out a key.
'Now that I think about it, this key looks similar to the door. Are they perhaps made from the same metal? Well, so long as it opens the door it really doesn't matter.'
Xavier inserted the key into the hole present in the door knob.
'Here goes nothing.' Xavier took a deep breath and then twisted the key to the right.
Crrk
The door unlocked.
'It worked!' Xavier rejoiced.
He pulled out the key and twisted the knob.
Creak
The door creaked open, the sound echoing ominously in the silent room.
"..."
Xavier had a stunned expression on his face as he looked at what was in front of him.
In front of him were two 10 foot tall pitch black metal boxes. He couldn't see what was inside one bit.
'Isn't that...' He noticed that there were two circular holes in each of the boxes.
'What the heck are those? They look intimidating.' Xavier thought.
'Hmm... there are two circular holes in these boxes just like in the first door. That means to open them I'll need...' Xavier once again put his hand inside his pocket and took out two more vials of blood.
'I'm not sure even if I insert the vials that these boxes will open but, it's worth a shot.' Xavier thought.
'But, which one should I open first? Should I just randomly pick one?'
'Ooh! I've an idea!'
Xavier raised his right index finger and pointed it at one of the boxes and did what any mature adult would do.
'Eenie meenie miney moe, let the box decide, let's go.'
His finger stopped at the left box.
'The left one eh? Let's open it up. Who knows if I'm lucky this thing might be filled to the brim with Credits. Hehe. I'll be rich if that's the case. Ah, I can only imagine the life I'll have with that much wealth. I wouldn't need to worry about school, homework, exams, those annoying teachers who're always partial. Haha. I can't wait.' Xavier grinned at the thought before calming himself.
'Let's not get too ahead of ourself.' Xavier thought.
He then walked to the left box and inserted the vial of blood.
Immediately after he inserted the vial, the black box changed colors and became transparent.
"...!" Xavier's eyes widened in disbelief.
Inside the now transparent box, there was a human, a man with multiple wires connected to his back. The man was clad in a black suit akin to that of a butler. He had black hair, fair skin, a handsome face. He looked to be around a hundred and eighty two centimeters tall.
"Wh-what? Why is there a human inside? No, is that even a human? With all those wires connected to its body... Don't tell me!" Xavier's eyes widened even more as he came to a realization.
"Is that a... Robot?" He said with shock and disbelief in his voice.
"Th-this can't be real. A Robot that too one with the appearance of a human from head to toe isn't possible. Robots of our world don't have the appearance of a human. At max, only some of their features resemble humans but that's it."
"Which means this is..."
