Secret Room

It was very late into the night,

Xavier was sleeping in his bedroom with Jaffar on his left side. When suddenly, he opened his eyes wide. He looked at the time; it was past 2 AM.

'Time to get to work.' He thought and got up from the bed.

He turned on the laptop and clicked on a self-developed application. On the screen, he saw a woman and a little girl sleeping together underneath a blanket.

'Good, they're both sleeping,' He thought.

He walked toward his closet and entered a code on the panel attached to it. The closet opened after verifying the password. He then took a few things and closed it.

'Time to find out the truth.' He thought.

Tak Tak Tak

The sound of footsteps could be heard. It belonged to a figure covered in shadows. The figure continued walking before stopping in front of a door.

"So, this is it. I'm doing it. There's no going back once I open this." The figure said to itself.

This figure was none other than Xavier.

"Okay, first up is the password." He said and took out a piece of paper from his pocket, looked at it and then moved his hand to the buttons on the door.

He pressed on a few of the buttons, some buttons more than once. But, just when he was about to press the 'Enter' button he hesitated.

"If this is wrong, then it's gonna let mom know and I'll be in for a world of trouble."

He hesitated for a while longer before coming to a decision.

"Here goes nothing." He said and pressed the button.

He then waited for a few moments for it to confirm the password. Sweat formed on his forehead thinking about the consequences if he got caught. Each moment that it took felt like torture to him. His heart began pounding as if trying to escape from his chest.

'Come on. How long is this gonna take?' He thought, starting to panic.

Flash

Fortunately for him, it didn't take much longer as a flash of green appeared on the screen above the buttons'.

"Phew..." Xavier sighed in relief. However, he was from over in opening this door.

'Step 1 is complete, time for step 2.' He thought.

He then took out a shining silver card from his pocket and inserted it into the door. This time, the door's security system scanned the card in half the time it took to verify the password.

Flash

Fortunately, the scanning of the card was a success and the card was given back to Xavier. The second step was more like withdrawing money from an ATM.

'Now, time for the last and final step.' He thought and once again put his hand in his pocket. But. this time he took out a vial containing a red liquid.

'This is blood, but, I don't know whose and why did mom have this on her. Mom, just you wait, I'm going to find out what secrets you've been hiding.' Xavier thought.

He saw a hole that looked like a perfect fit for the vial and went ahead and inserted the vial.

He then waited over a minute for it to be verified.

'Hmm? What's wrong with this? Why is it taking so long?' Xavier thought slowly starting to become nervous again.

FLASH!

"Aah! Too bright!" Xavier said and covered his eyes with his hands to protect them from the blinding flash of light.

'I should've turned on the Light Protection function of my glasses.' Xavier thought, cursing himself for his stupidity.

He opened his eyes after a while and saw that the door was open.

"...!" Xavier's eyes widened.

However, they quickly turned back to normal. The room was covered in pitch darkness; nothing was visible from the outside.

'It gives me an eerie feeling.' He thought.

He pressed a button on the remote which was on his left hand. Immediately after he pressed it, two rays of light emitted from his glasses. The glasses he was wearing however, did not hinder his vision in anyway because of the light being emitted from them. He could perfectly see.

However, he was left shocked to see the rays of light not illuminate the room at all. He still couldn't see a single thing inside. It was as if the room was absorbing all of the light.

'Dammit!' Xavier cursed as he pressed the same button once more and immediately, the rays of light shut down.

He looked at the room and it was still as dark and imposing as ever.

'Is there no other option? Do I really have to go inside without knowing what's in there? What if there's something dangerous? What if there's a killer robot?' he thought.

"Ugh! I'm thinking too much into this." Xavier shook his head left and right.

"I've come too far too back off now." He told himself. His eyes were burning with determination as he took a step forward into the room.

Immediately, after he stepped foot inside, weird sounds resounded.

Tchk Tchk Tchk Tchk

Red Lights began to turn on.

Xavier was spooked for a second before calming down.

'Moment of truth.' He thought.

"...!"

Xavier looked around and was completely shocked.

Meanwhile, in another part of the world.

Inside a luxurious room that was aesthetically pleasing to the eye, a handsome brown-haired man wearing casual clothes was sleeping on a table.

Zzz

He was snoring loudly, seemingly without a care in the world. His mouth was open as drool fell from it.

"Ah... Lady Lavina, please be gentle with this humble servant." He smilingly murmured. He seemed to be having a good dream.

Suddenly...

"Who let the dogs out!? Hu! Hoo! Hu! Hoo!"

"Gaaah!?" The man jumped into the air.

"Woah!?"

BANG

He fell flat on the floor.

"Ouch! That hurts..."

He rubbed his butt in pain. He slowly got up and looked at the watch on his wrist.

"Urgh! Which son of a glitch dare disturb the slumber of me, Brock the great Advisor to the Duke?"

He placed the watch near his right eye. The watch scanned his eye and unlocked itself. Immediately after opening, he was bombarded with a bunch of notifications. He went through the notifications and saw that all of them from a single person.

"Huh? Miss Yufella? Why is she calling me? Her intelligence department should take a month or more to complete the mission they were given. Did she already finish it?" Brock wondered.

He then called the person in question. Not even a second passed and Miss Yufella picked up the call as if she was waiting for it.

"Advisor Brock, why weren't you picking up my calls?" Yufella asked with a hint of annoyance. She had called him over 10 times but he didn't pick up even once.

"Oh? And who're you to ask me? Just hurry up and get to the point." Brock sneered.

"You! Haah... whatever." Yufella was about to get angry before she sighed.

"It's about the weapon." Yufella answered in a grave voice.

"Hmm? Weapon? Which one? We have a lot you know? Clarify." Brock said.

"I'm talking about that weapon—the one from 15 years ago." Yufella said in a grim voice.

"..." Brock's expression darkened, his earlier arrogance replaced by seriousness.
