Training (1/2)

"So... you're like a cat girl?" I asked while sitting before RIas Rook, Koneko Toujou. She nodded at my words, her face emotionless while she simply looked at me, waiting to see how I would train her.

"Are you related to Kuroka?" I asked shocking Koneko, who slowly nodded as she was her elder sister.

"By the looks of things, you have a bad relationship with her, but when I saw your sister she had a good heart, so I didn't mind giving her some tips," I said to which Keneko shook her head.

"She isn't a good person." She said hatred in her eyes remembering her elder sister.

"I'm a good judge of people, there seems to be a greater story behind this... want to find out?" I asked with a smile, to which Keneko glared at me.

"You hold some mental trauma with your powers. I can't bring out your full potential like this." I said while the ground before us began to start glowing, and there Keneko's eyes widened seeing an image of the past.

"This is a spell that allows us to see into the past," I said calmly.

"I never heard of such a spell." She said in slight shock seeing her younger self with her mother.

"That makes sense. I just created the spell." I said shocking Keneko who looked at me, not believing my words. I pointed down, speeding up so I could get the important parts.

"Where are your parents now?" I asked to which Keneko lowered her head.

"They passed away, we were taken in by a devil soon after..." Keneko paused seeing her father doing experiments on her and her sister. Keneko froze as she didn't remember this.

Keneko's mother was called Fujimai. While exploring the world, she met a human scientist and fell in love with him although he had only used her to satisfy his lust as Fujimai gave birth to two daughters as a result of their tyrsts.

However, her husband didn't acknowledge the daughters as he was too immersed in his research of trying to create Super Devils, viewing the daughters as nothing more than pet kittens. Fujimai wanted for him to acknowledge their daughters as she continued to help him with his research and experiments. When a particularly risky experiment was about to take place, she entrusted her daughters to the research facility run by the Naberius Clan.

During the experiment, there was an accident that caused an explosion that killed both her and her husband, leaving their daughters orphaned.

Kuroka after losing her parents, along with her sister was later taken in by a Devil from the branch family of the House of Naberius, and she was reincarnated as the Devil's Bishop using up two Evil Pieces. While serving her master, Kuroka became extremely talented in Senjutsu and Youjutsu, and her magical power as a Bishop became so great that she surpassed her own master in terms of magical power alone.

The event that Koneko saw next caused Koneko's world to explode as she realized all her life, her elder sister was shielding her. It was Kuroka who shielded her from her parent's experiment, hiding everything with lies, and under the devil, Kuroka continued.

The story Koneko knew was simple. Kuroka's power as a Nekomata supposedly soon grew out of control, eventually causing her to kill her master and become a Stray Devil on the run from her pursuers. In actuality, he had planned to experiment on Koneko in his research about creating a Super Devil, causing Kuroka to kill him in order to protect her younger sister.

Following the incident and the failed manhunt that came after, Koneko was sentenced to death by the Devils in hopes of preventing another incident like Kuroka's from happening. However, Sirzechs Lucifer, one of the Four Great Satans, protected her and left her under his sister Rias' care. Due to the trauma, she experienced with her sister's betrayal and murder of her master, she fell into a deep depression, eventually robbing her of nearly all of her emotions until Rias helped her out of it.

"You have a good sister, make sense why she was in kuoh town... she was here to spy on you," I said lightly while Koneko bit her lips, trying her best to not cry. Seeing this, I destroyed the mirror of the past.

"You two sisters had endured a lot... let me help give you the power you need to protect yourself," I said while getting to one knee, she was a loli, so I had to do this so we could be at eye level. I held out my palm towards her, which she took while removing her tears and nodding her head...

====================

"It's been a long time since I held a sword, what is your sacred gear by the way?" I asked while holding a stick, facing Kiba who held a sword, ready for combat. By the way, this was a clone. I just split my source between the clones, so it was both my main body and a clone at the same time.

"It's called Sword Birth. It has the ability to create numerous demon swords each with its own attributes and properties." Kiba said while feeling like he was being looked down upon as I was holding a stick to face him.

"Then come at me," I said with a smile, Kiba wasted no time, flashing before me while cutting towards me... but I easily blocked his attack with my stick.

"A swordsman with a closed heart and mind... is a weak swordsman. Clear your mind and your heart." I said with a relaxed smile while knocking him back. Kiba's eyes were wide by the simple fact... well, I was simply using one hand, and I was easily able to withstand his blows.

"What do you mean my heart is closed?" Kiba asked lightly.

"Simple, you're fighting alone. You create swords with unique abilities or whatnot, but never a sword with a soul. You put no connection into the swords you create, to you they are but tools to victory and nothing more." I said while casting a spell, allowing Kiba to feel and hear his sword.

Kiba looked at his sword in shock, he heard nothing, but he felt the piece of the sword he had ignored. The soul of the sword.

"It doesn't matter what ability you give your sword, or what nonsense. A swordsman who had become one with their sword is a swordsman capable of cutting everything in his path, source and all." I said while swinging my stick down, sending an invisible slash forward which left a huge cut in the ground. Kiba's eyes almost fell out at that, but I gave him no time to think as I created a simple sword, which I threw towards him.

"This sword is...." Kiba said sensing nothing special about the sword... no, it felt complete, unlike the swords he created.

"I put my heart and soul into creating that sword. Until you can connect with the sword, become one with it... you're not allowed to call yourself a swordsman." I said with a smile, to which Kiba wanted to point out the fact it took less than a second for the sword to be created, so how much care could have been put into it? But they said nothing, for although this sword was a simple normal sword, it felt better than the countless swords he had ever created.

"You're swordsman?" Kiba asked to which I gave him a sad smile remembering my sword... wait, it wasn't my sword, it was Anos's sword.

"Yes, I once had a mighty sword, a sword which helped me control my uncontrollable power. But it wasn't capable of channeling it all. I need to create a new one." I sighed, feeling heartache at the memory of my beloved sword... which was weird since... well, I wasn't Anos.

"Now training you would be troublesome, you're suppressing your fallen angel side, pretty much weakening yourself," I said while looking at Akeno, who frowned, which was a shock as she always had a smile.

"I'm not a fallen angel." She said to which I sighed

"Whatever happened to your past is still hunting you, rejecting it and running from it isn't going to help you. This mask you always have on, masking your true self and your scars, it's not helping anyone." I said lightly

"Don't sit there and act like you know me," Akeno said getting enraged, and to that, I held out my palm.

"You're right, I'm only guessing. But I do know for sure that every time I see you with that smile, it's always fake... So let's go see the route of that trauma," I said calmly, causing Akeno to glare at my palm and back at me.

"Like what? Time travel?" She asked to which I nodded.

"We're going to the past, time travel isn't so hard," I said while a magic circle appeared under my feet, circling us, but Akeno stepped backward unease on her face.

"You're scared," I said lightly, Akeno paused for some time, before she spoke.

"Of course," She said lightly, to go back into the past, she was scared she wouldn't be able to control herself and do everything to save her mother.

"Put your faith in me, you're not facing your fears alone. No matter how scary, how deadly, or dark they might be. I will hold your hand through it all, and destroy it." I said overflowing with confidence which forced her to have no choice but to agree with my words, and take my hand.
