EDWINA 

"You should know, Harriet is really mad at you," Juliette said, crossing her legs as she sat down. 

"I know," I responded.

"She says she doesn't want anything to do with you again," my personal assistant continued.

I sighed. "That, I didn't know, but now I know. Thank you for telling me."

Juliette leaned forward.

"What you said was uncalled for, Ed. You've known Harriet for a long long time. Far longer than Kieran. She didn't deserve that kind of accusation, no matter how mad or hurting you were. She was just trying to help, the least you could have done was left her out of your lashing."

Juliette's words did nothing but widen the chasm that was already in my heart. She was right, of course she was.

I had gone way over the line.

"Stop reminding me of my mistakes, okay? I know what I did was wrong. You don't need to rub it in my face," I muttered.

My personal assistant leaned back on her chair.
