CHAPTER 114

KIERAN

My heart raced in my chest. It was pounding so hard that it drowned out all the other sounds in the world.

My hands trembled slightly, nervousness digging deep into my bones. I felt like a high school kid waiting for his girlfriend for a first date.

"I think he is going to pass out from nervousness before he even gets a chance to say anything when she gets here," Archie said to my sister, both of them watching my antics.

Charlotte laughed, then moved closer to me.

"Relax, Kie. It's not a big deal. It's just a surpise apology party, not a heart transplant."

I ignored the both of them. It was easy for them to say, considering the fact that it was none of them who had been agonized these past few weeks.

The plan had taken us long, longer than expected to come up with. And my co conspirators — Archie and Charlotte — warned me towards having any form of contact with her.
