CHAPTER 125

KIERAN

For some reason I couldn't make out, Edwina was avoiding me.

She hadn't made an attempt to talk to me, to reach out or even look at me.

I had no idea why, and it was baffling. It was as though she was actively trying to avoid me.

I ran a hand through my hair as I pressed the doorbell over and over again. She was inside, I knew. Today was a weekend, and Edwina never went to office on these days.

I pressed the doorbell again.

Footsteps approached, and my heart started to race as I heard the latch opening.

Edwina opened the door.

My heart raced faster. She looked as beautiful as ever, even more beautiful. My heart ached as we stared at each other, and with a pang, I realised that I had missed her so damn much.

"Hello, Kieran," she said coolly.

I cleared my throat.

"Hello, Edwina," I responded. She didn't move away from the door or make a move to usher me inside.
