EDWINA
"You know you were asked to bring a date, and not your personal assistant, to this event, right?" Juliette rolled her eyes, my arm in hers as we walked into the event hall.
It was huge, with large, beautiful flower arrangements dotting the hall, providing an aesthetic type of beauty to the place.
The lights were low and breathtaking, a kaleidoscope of different colours that blended into one another.
"Hush, now. It's not as if i am going against the rules. They said to bring a date, and here you are, my date," I responded.
My personal assistant rolled my eyes again, but said nothing as we took our seats.
It was a fundraising event, and I watched as people with considerable power, people who held the dynamics of how the country was run, mingle with one another.
A server brought flutes of champagne over to us, and I clinked my glass with Juliette's before I sipped.
