"What are you doing here?" I asked, unable to stop my voice from being sharp.
I watched as emotions flitted across his face. He settled on bland innocence, and I was almost tempted to laugh at his attempt to keep playing the fool.
"What do you mean? I sent you a text to ask about our next hangout and you didn't send a response. I was kinda getting worried," he said softly.
I scoffed, the sound derisive.
"Seriously? You really think you should keep up with this act? After all the shit that went down between us?"
His face contorted into a wince, and I folded my arms as I watched him process the words.
"What are you talking about? I already explained what happened to you? Did anyone…did Kieran tell you something about me again?"
My hands curled into fists.
