Edwina recovered slowly. Very slowly. Her health was fragile, according to the doctor. So trying to speed up the recovery process would be dangerous.

He suggested that we let her come into her strength all by herself, and we all listened through him without objections.

Each and every one of us rotated spending time with her at the hospital. Juliette handled most of my wife's work at the company, always coming over to check up on her once work was over.

Charlotte and her husband dropped in constantly too. But as for me? I didn't even bother to go to work.

I put my personal assistant in charge of everything that could come up during my absence and stayed with my wife in her ward. I slept and woke up there, leaving Noah to stay with Charlotte and Archie.

I did everything I could think of for my wife. I slowly massaged her swollen feet. I fed her tiny portions of food.
