KIERAN
Charlotte stayed with me until the doctor came out, which was like, forever.
The moment the door opened and he stepped out, my sister and I rounded on him immediately.
He held out a hand to stop up from bombarding him with questions.
"I think congratulations are in order. Your wife is safe. She is alive and breathing. And you are now the proud father of a baby girl."
At the announcement, my legs buckled beneath me and gave way.
My knees hit the ground with a soft thud, but the pain didn't register. It was inconsequential, compare to the relief that was flooding me. Gushing into me like a waterfall.
Charlotte smiled, her expression turning from one of worry into pure happiness.
"Thank you. Thank you so much. My God. You have no idea how much….thank you. Thank you," I repeated over and over, unable to stop my lips from parting with appreciation.
