"Aunt Juliette is going on a date!"
The announcement caught everyone by surprise. We all gasped, Charlotte more dramatically than the rest of us.
We were at Charlotte's and Archie's, celebrating my husband best friend's birthday.
It had been a surprise, one Archie had no idea was brewing. He was amused and genuinely happy about all of it, and now we all chilled.
But now…my son had just provided us a very juicy piece of information.
Juliette blushed furiously, her cheeks, neck and ears turning a deep shade of red.
That, even more than my son's abrupt announcement, took my by surpise.
My personal assistant, the one who always seemed so aloof and slightly snobbish whenever we talked about men, was going on a date.
"Okay, Noah. That was not cool at all," she raised her eyebrows at my boy, her expression turning stern.
Noah cowered under her gaze, suddenly looking abashed.
"I'm sorry," he said sofly.
