KIERAN
"Hey."
I turned around to see Edwina leaning against the closet door frame, talking to me.
"Hey," I swallowed. She didn't look mad. She looked…normal.
I had just arrived home from work, and I was already thinking of new ways to apologise to my wife.
I definitely didn't expect her to talk to me. Maybe she needed me to do something.
"Do you…do you need me to do anything for you?" I asked softly. Edwina closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
"No. I just wanted to apologise. I…might have overreacted these past few weeks."
My heart leapt into my throat.
I ignored my shirt sleeves and walked over to her, stopping just a few feet away.
"You have absolutely nothing to apologise for, baby. It's alright."
She shook her head.
"No. I have to. I overreacted, treated you in way I should not have. My anger should not have had to take away my logical ability to reason like a proper human being."
