CHAPTER 177

EDWINA

Shit.

Shit.

This was bad. This was very very bad.

With shaky hands, I dialled the police. My heart was pounding violently against my chest, and the tears I felt building at the back of my eyes was already streaming down my face.

Nancy didn't do anything to Noah, no. She kept staring at him with wide, crazy eyes while still gorging on the pile of snacks before her.

My son, who seemed to be used to this…this madness his nanny was doing, stood perfectly still. I could see the outline of a tremble in his body, but he didn't move.

What was I waiting for?

I wanted to dash inside, to burst through the door and take my son far far away from her. Harriet had stopped crying now, and I could see my baby sucking her thumb in an attempt to ward off the hunger.

But I needed to catch Nancy. I already had proof, I was just waiting for the police to get here so as to prevent her from running away.

My God.
