Chapter 108: Madison

When my alarm sounds, my body aches in protest as I stretch. It’s the delicious reminder of a long rendezvous with Hamilton last night. My muscles crave a long, hot soak in the tub, but I’ll have to settle for a long, hot shower.

I groan, remembering the hours of shopping planned for me today.

“It won’t be that bad,” Hamilton calls from our bathroom.

I crawl down the bed, excited at the prospect of ogling my naked man. I groan again when I find him already dressed with Liberty sitting next to him on the vanity.

I want nothing more than to crawl under the covers for a few more hours of sleep. But my day awaits.

Only 40 minutes after I kiss Hamilton goodbye, our doorbell rings. Since the doorman didn’t call ahead, it must be a resident or someone on Hamilton’s pre-approved list. I need to see who he has on that list.

With Liberty behind my legs, I hesitantly open the door.

“Oh, hello.” I greet the last person in the world I want to see at our door.
