Chapter 107: Madison

After dinner, the long day begins to take its toll on me. I long to prop myself up on a few pillows in the corner of the sectional.

“This way,” Hamilton urges as we walk down the hallway.

I hear the sound of running water in the master bathroom. “What’s up?” I pause, looking up at Hamilton.

“Liberty and I have a surprise for you.” He continues to maneuver me towards our bedroom with his hand firmly at the small of my back.

“Sup-pize!” Liberty jumps up and down on our bed as I enter my room. “Sup-pize, Mommy!”

I climb onto the bed and begin jumping with her. Liberty wraps her little arms around my legs, and together, we fall to the mattress, giggling. She wiggles her way up my body.

She points to the master bath. “Sup-pize, Mommy!”

I crane my neck. Hamilton bends over the sunken tub, turning off the faucet. He dips his hand in, testing the temperature.

“Perfect,” he declares, looking my way. “Your bath awaits.” His long arm gestures above the tub.
