“We should plan something fun tonight,” Hamilton states as he finishes running pomade-covered fingers through his long, curly hair. His eyes meet mine in the bathroom mirror.
“I’ll plan something,” I promise as I lay my head against his shoulder.
“I want to keep Liberty with me every moment I can,” he confesses. “I really don’t want to leave the two of you.” He places a kiss atop my head.
I turn to face him. “I know. But, time will fly.” I place my hands on his chest when he turns to face me. “You’ll FaceTime us each night if you don’t get in too late. Before you know it, 10 days will have passed, and we will be in Mesa to visit you.” I rise to my tiptoes and place a kiss on his lips. “Baseball is your job, and you love it. We’ll make it work; you’ll see,” I reassure him.
Hamilton brushes hair from my eyes. He leans his forehead to mine. “I love you. I wanted you in Chicago for so long, and now that you are here, I don’t want to leave you.”
