"Where are we going?" Angel asked, following behind Nadia.
"I thought you said you could walk? Or were you just lying so you could have an excuse to get out of bed?" She asked, looking ahead.
"Not really. I can actually walk. I'm just curious."
"Curiosity kills the cat," she warned.
"The boys in the tower would say it's impossible because cats have nine lives."
Despite her desire to remain composed, Nadia chuckled.
"Did you just laugh?"
"No," she replied hastily, and opened the door in front of her.
"Sure," Angel smiled knowingly. She knew what she heard, and no amount of gaslighting would quench her delusional beliefs that she was the funniest person walking the earth.
Nadia switched on the light, and the kitchen was illuminated.
She turned when she didn't hear movements, and discovered Angel had stopped just by the door.
"Are you coming in or what?"
