Ares waited for the storm to pass in him, whilst David rode the wave of his high.

The high he had gotten from finally getting just an inkling of a reaction from Ares.

He saw the moment a vein popped out by the side of his neck, and knew he must have struck a nerve.

That was his goal anyway. To strike a nerve or two of the man he had gotten to learn was a gangster.

"Can I continue?" He asked after the smile faded from his face.

"Go on," Ares replied, shocked at how composed his voice was.

"I didn't believe her until I remembered the incident with you basically telling me off. It was you right? Painting a vivid picture of how you'll fuck my fiance," he chuckled maniacally.

"Go on," he said a second time.

"I didn't sleep with Ava if that's what you're thinking about. I would have, but I found out she was already sleeping with her professor so I—"

Ares bandged a fist on the table, and David jerked into silence.
