UNCHANGEABLE MIND

Angel slowly moved away from Ares, but kept her gaze on him.

She remained silent for a little while, as she tried to wrap her head around what she had just heard.

Her eyes studied him carefully, observing how his eyes remained on his phone screen, as he stroked his chin.

The nonchalance, and lack of hesitation he was displaying, upset her so much, she couldn't remain silent anymore.

"Are you just not going to say anything?" She asked.

His fingers stroking his chin stopped moving, and he looked at her. "What would you have me say?"

"Are you joking right now, Ares? Nadia is your mother! You've locked your own mother like a filthy prisoner, all these years. Oh my God!" she covered her mouth, feeling abominable just mentioning the obvious.

"She's hardly that," he replied with a dismissive scoff.

Her eyes widened in disbelief. "What do you mean by that?" She asked, taking off her hand so he could hear her clearly.
