DISAPPOINTING HIS COLD HEART

Angel watched him return with a plate for her.

She couldn't deny the aroma of the food was enough to get her stomach grumbling for it.

"I don't know what this is called, but Nadia used to cook it all the time," he said as he placed the potato veggies, and glazed chicken in front of her.

"It doesn't smell revolting," she said.

"I know your palate is complicated. I have to act accordingly."

He moved away, and when he returned, there was a bottle of wine, water, and a glass cup in his hand.

"You're not eating?" She asked as he sat down.

"Not hungry," he replied. "Eat." He urged with a hand gesture.

"Okay."

She grabbed the fork, and dug in. The first piece that fell into her mouth, she closed her eyes and savored the taste.

Ares watched her with a big smile on his face.

The flavours exploded in her tongue, and when she opened her eyes, she felt euphoric.
