Angel sighed, as she equally rose to her feet..
"What does David want this time around?" she asked.
"Are you done eating?" Ares countered her question with one of his.
"I don't care about that, Ares. Why's David messing with you this time?"
He began to gather the plates. When he was done, he carried them to the sink.
"At least let me do that," she followed after him. "It's the least I can do after you cooked for me," she said.
"Don't bother. I need something to do to keep my mind off other things," he said, as he began to sort the dishes.
She watched him scrub furiously, and grew even more worried.
"Won't you tell me what David is doing?"
"There's no point," he said brusquely.
She swallowed a retort, and instead, moved forward.
Standing directly behind him, she wrapped her hand around his body, and rested her head on his back.
Ares stilled for a few seconds, because he hadn't expected any of that.
